Engis and Rangers both got changes that are really going to help the class and buff the completely underpowered specs in the class… Is this the plan for all classes?

I saw a few things that I really liked. The thing I liked most is comboing a certain aspect of a trait and making it just baseline with the skill… With that said… Mesmers have been screaming for months that this needs to happen with some of their most basic skills…

Are you guys actually going to show us how you are going to fix mesmers in the next ready up? Or should some of our mesmers just stay shelved because our teams absolutely refuse to let us play them for competitive matches.

Edit: But in all honesty I think 90% of the mesmer players would be happy if you just fixed the bugs.

Making a current trait a baseline with a skill seems to be a common trend they are doing as well as interesting buffs to power/zerk builds specifically. It will be interesting to see what they have planned for the other classes if they follow this pattern.

I’m fine with all the changes except for the buff to turrets. That makes no sense. They needed a nerf to turrets.

Really feel like thief will be pushed out of this next meta. They seem to be buffing skills that give revealed. Engy will be even more of a hard counter to thief than it was before. If they nerf sword main hand or s/d because of the qq of this current meta the class will be dead in spvp.

Edit: Also feel like they should be making it harder to enter stealth, not completely neutralizing the class by pressing 1 button to defeat all their defenses. More abilities that apply revealed is directly a result of getting free stealths from the d/p black powder heartseeker combo which should have been made harder to achieve a long time ago.

Meh I play SA thief if all class have 1 revealed skill it’s not much really just a little more challenge and maybe engi won’t die from condi too fast and but ranger might be tricky.

Don’t forget thief will get it’s changes too so keep an open mind.

The reveal only works if they arnt stealthed. I don’t think it will be too hard hitting to the class as the old reveal wasn’t much useful either. Even if the s/d does see some changes it prob won’t be serious and there still is d/p specs.
The one thing I would love to see is warriors get a new utility that is a hookshot pull with like the same range as magnet or scorp wire. It’s the only melee class that doesn’t have a pull, dunno why really.

It will weed out the lesser skilled thieves. Honestly I bet any top tier thief sees these buffs to engie/ranger power spec as a buff to thieves as well. Sure the other classes are getting buffed and even ways that directly counter stealth, but its buffing power specs, which thieves are quite strong against naturally. Adding in revealed creates mind games and interesting counter play.

I could be totally wrong and am the only thief welcoming these changes. But I would 100% rather fight a power ranger or a glassier engie than the current meta.

A evil thought just past through my mind what if they did all this because they will buff stealth? The irony would kill me alone lol but great to see rangers happy and probably less condi turreteer but seriously what will…happen..to….thief….?

I have been an avid supporter of them implementing more counter play to stealth. On that note I’d like to see more counter play to other skills, like invulnerabilities/immunities etc. I think skills like Renewed Focus are fine. However skills like Endure Pain, Shelter etc etc have little or extremely niche counter play. Like the Mesmer pull will fully interrupt a guards shelter and put it on full cd without them getting the heal affect, but from my knowledge only 3 (soon) to be 4 skills will be able to do this.
As with endure/berserker the only ‘real’ counter play is to wait it out and hope you can survive and kill them before they are back up.

I could go on but it’s unnecessary since its my personal balance wishes, but I think proactive counter plays to stealth is a step in the right direction.

I was kinda nervous going into the ready up. Totally pumped now. I like all of the changes, although I’ll admit that I don’t really play ranger. Looking forward to seeing what they do with the other classes.

thieves still stealth? i thought you guys just spam evades amongst larcenous strike 3k crits…

if they get nerfed it is only because of people abusing meta builds that then need to be balanced.
if people didn’t act like clones and made their own builds then there wouldn’t be enough attention on anything to get nerfed.
meta builds all have it coming.

the ranger changes are pretty stupid, it will buff glasscannon specs way too mutch, and not help with the survability on the bunker/ group support specs which was rangers biggest problem. So we are going to be all be forced too glasscannon specs.

The changes will not help not to die vs a necro. From my poiont o fview it is great that they care about the FT on engi. Also the turret nerf is fine. But that Elixir C is not a stun break is a no go for me.
