With all the evasion spam by thieves and Rangers and people complaining about the current meta… would making immob lock-out evasion skills be the best course of action in order to give players tools to counter these very powerful builds?

I know that Anet didn’t want to make immob do this because they were afraid of nerfing the only build that Rangers had. But the thing is though, Rangers can still evade the immob before it hits, Thieves can do the same. On my Engie, I have a build that is based on constantly being able to use my dodge button and that build can rival the Rangers ability to dodge repeatedly and keep alive for long periods of time but something seriously puts me in a bad spot when I get hit by it, what is this thing you might ask? Immobilize.

Immob should start shutting down evades, just as they shut-down dodging. The Ranger has enough passive condi removal to render immob useless anyway and the Thief can just teleport out of danger, so these classes have built-in counters to immob already. You, the devs, shouldn’t be afraid to do this.

You realize the Ranger has an elite with a very long lasting immobalize (if it would actually get fixed so it was reliable…) right? They also have mud trap. If your goal is to nerf Rangers by buffing immobalizes, you’re going to be disappointed. I’m also not convinced Rangers are that overpowered to the point they need targeted nerfing.

I mean do you even consider what will happen to the class if it can’t evade? It’s fine to suggest nerfs for the sake of balance, but the goal shouldn’t be to eviscerate an entire class to do it. Rangers have a very narrow role to play currently and rely heavily no a meta that heavily favors conditions and bunker builds.

Any adjustments to the class will likely destroy it completely and shouldn’t be done without thinking them through.

Yes, but how does the fact that they have immobs affect their ability to evade or not evade? Are you assuming that I’m trying to remove Rangers from the meta by buffing immobs? And then suggesting that, it won’t necessarily do that due the fact that they have skills that immob?

If that’s the case then, I have to say, their ability to immob will not affect their position within a team. And no, I am not trying to remove them from the meta by suggesting a buff to immob, what I am trying to suggest is that Anet allow for more pro-active/skillful play where the player is tasked with evading the immob before it hits rather than during the immob itself and the other player is tasked with timing the immob right and is rewarded for doing so.

yes, make immobilize actually immobilize.

first step, make all weapon skill evades and teleports not work when immobilized then move onto utilities if that’s still not enough.

I think they should only affect evades, teleports don’t need you to be in motion so they shouldn’t be affected by immob.
