Tips for a Ranger
You should try putting 10 more points into WS for the condition removal. Remove bear and use a wolf all the time (bears have no damage). Atm the white raven is weaker than the black raven so if you wan’t to use a raven use that one (this should be updated in the patch). Axe off hand is probably our worst off hand but if you like it then ok. However, if you are running a condition then I recommend torch for the extra dmg. If you are running a power/crit build then I would suggest a condition build until you get the ropes on ranger down.

Where should I remove 10 to put the new 10 in? and what traits specifily should I be useing?
Really? Odd, but okay, I been useing white, ill change him up. Thanks for the heads up.
Torch, instead of axe..alright, no problems there changeing it up, I just figured useing the WD keep a stealthie out away for a few moments.
I think I am running power/crt, with coniditions..ill have to double check, haveing abit of trouble figureing out whats what on PvP armor sense they only provide armor, no stats.
With my ranger, I use longbows instead. Some of the skills are better and can help with stealth targets. The volley of arrows is great when you have a thief going stealth or large group of enemies.
Alright, Shortbow/Longbow, same as my PvE mode, a large group of enemys -.-’ a single mesmer… urg..hate mesmers and thiefs… but alright, ill give both a shot and see what one works best with me.
I suggest running the cookie cutter trap build. 0/30/30/5/5. Take spike trap, flame trap, and then a stun break (could put 5 in vit trait into BM for shout cooldown if you wanted). You can run this with either a shaman or a rabid amulet. There are very few rangers that have successful power/crit builds in PvP. If you are having thief problems I think protect me will help a lot and so will having a lot of conditions from traps and sb. For mesmers you really need to watch and once the clone charges you really fast you need to dodge his sword burst → shatter combo. If you are using shaman amulet though you should be ok to make a few mistakes. You should be using troll unguent as your heal. Personally, I have found axe/torch to be good against mesmers because of the bounces.
Generally speaking, I don’t think its a good idea to trait into the power line for anything. Going full glass cannon on a ranger isn’t viable so that means you need to trait for survivability. If you’re traiting for survivability that means WS. If you are traiting into WS then you are already set up to use conditions.
If you use double bows then you are going to have an issue with melee classes that will be in your face 100% especially in tight areas.

For me, best ranger build atm is beastmaster 0/0/30/10/30. I use SB with sword and dagger and signets of the hunt, renewal and wild, heal as one for the healing and rampage as one as elite. Pets i use lynx and devourer because i take bleed on hit in bm trait line. When fighting mesmer stay away from the clones using dodge, sword dodge and shortbow quickshot, always try to keep him at max distance especially when he stealths/drops target then focus fire and use pet skills when you find him. But yeah, mesmers can be hard to kill for every class not just ranger especially in group fights. Kite and dodge then burst using sword/dagger and pet skills when you see opportunity. Put sigil of hidromancy on SB to chill them after sword burst then contiue kite/dodge, rinse and repeat. Also i put sigils that give me toughness and reduced condition/stun duration + toughness on my armor cause i absolutely hate conditions.
I’ll teach you how to play ranger pm me in game. That goes for anyone.

Alright, one other thing, I was testing out a build, in a match…lets just say…the match accually made me depressed looking at the score….500-120…naturally guess what side I was one (It was a Tpvp match)…if anyone knows where I can find a group to go with… my win/loss raito with pugs just makes me sad…, I messed around with rolls a few times in other matchs, I think I got the hang of 1 on 1 fighting (1v2 still working on improveing)
