The question that have beeing typed in that deleted thread (before was interupted by the response of some immature ppl) , was interesting :

Would you :

a) Allow F2P accounts to have the HoT Elites specs and any future Elites to have the same damage and survibility

or

b) Realease the future Elites , as underpowered (Damage Wise) and nerf any domminant HoT specs
(while buffing Core) ?

Nerf current HoT elite specs more. Make sure that the next round of elite specs is no more powerful than the nerfed HoT specs. Then it would be good, F2P accounts don’t need access to the elite specs

Powercreep doesn’t make anything more fun it makes for cheesy easy game play that is boring and skill-less, but most players now are bad so I can see why it would be appealing.

I think we can get more of a rush when one mistake can be taken advantage of over a longer duration (longer than currently), screwing you over unless they themselves make a mistake. But right now, you can make a bunch of mistakes and still succeed. This is what powercreep allows: mistakes.

This is not a choice or a question, this is a fix and remedy.

That’s not an effect of powercreep, that is the effect of shipping a new product….. and the effects of neglect afterwards

That’s not an effect of powercreep, that is the effect of shipping a new product….. and the effects of neglect afterwards

(Powercreep+Raid+Farm) – (PVP+WvW) = Their new product.
May be we have another powercreep. If their Boss NCsoft is an idiot allow them to continue nonsense.

Powercreep can never be fixed unless they revert the trait changes where they let everyone take more traits AND merged them all.

What’s the problem of “powercreep”?
We came from a bunker meta where a fight against two “squishy” builds took at best 1 minute, frequently longer. Now a quick fight can take 30 seconds or lesser.

We have a more reactive game with more damage but also more ways to protect yourself, more reliant on Active defences than Passive defences, with more teamplay to stay alive and don’t get bursted down by a fast focus.

Everyone wanted that and now everyone cry about that.

Yes, someone can burst you down in 5 seconds if you’re bad enough to don’t pay any attention to what is happening near you. What’s the problem?
Do you really want the bunker meta back?
Do you want bunker amulets and sigils back? Only to make classes and builds able again to be perfect bunkers and unkillabe, making all the burst class and builds bad again as in the past?

There’s different things to fix, as grant to every class defensive skills and offensive skills, nerfing some clases damage burst skills or mobility/devensive skills to don’t make them so good to survive if compared to all the others.
There’s some adjustment to do that’s true, but the game isn’t so bad as it is now.
Much better than what we had in the past…

If the problem is that ppl cant stay alive for more than 5 sec …. its a L2P issue ….

PPl should focus on getting a more defensive spec …. even if that means that the LoW-Medium-High Leaderboards Spots consists of silly casuals that cant survive and they get more Bumkerish spec … while in the higher tier it will be a Skillfull Burst Meta .

A skillfull player can easily past those silly Bunkerish specs and climb the ladder

Don’t know if anyone experienced the Celestial Meta… everyone was built for sustain and might stacks. If you didn’t have a Shatter Mesmer/Necro the teamfights don’t end.

I tried Celestial Ele/Engi/Warrior but didn’t feel like it then, and went full kitten Banner Regen Bunker Warrior (credit to Olrun): http://intothemists.com/guides/1004-banner_bunker_warrior

A friend Breakstar introduced me to it. A lot of people reacted hilariously to Mercy Runes + Determined Revival + Fast Healer because you can actually rez people solo while they are getting stomped & cleaved out (just cleanse the poison off first).

Make old class lines into elite specs in their own right, balance around single classes (treating elite specs like classes) and stop the current dual classing some of the specs allow (look at mesmer and thief).

More work in the short term, better balance in the long term.

Yes, because reducing powercreep means going straight back to the bunker meta…. Oh wait, you mean the post HoT bunker meta that was the result of powercreep and nothing else?

That meta came about because of powercreep. Reducing powercreep is taking steps to ensure no meta like that can ever happen again. Since you seem to hate it so kitten much, I’m surprised you are also against lowering powercreep in this game
