Today, I am writing this to suggest new support ideas.


[INTRODUCTION]

According to this thread posted by ANET devs, I am pretty sure “ShoutBow” will be gone as both settler/celestial gone.

Thus, my guess is that the next generation support warrior is probably “Banner Shout” (http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?vJAQNApeSjMdQlHW7BeeAdIGqCKtHahcI3guOFwCoBCAA-TpBHABFcCAI4BAAwRAon9HyuMwAHCAA), which utilizing probably Crusader or Cleric ammy.


[KNOWN PROBLEM]
There are notable disadvantage of running support warrior as described following:
1. Healing supports amount to both caster and allies is worse than druid at same amulet
2. DPS is also worse than druid at same amulet
3. Bunkering ability is also worse than Guardian Bunker at same Cleric ammy


[SUGGESTION – 6 IDEAS]
In fact, I wouldn’t recommend buffing more healing amount to Shout. The reason is that if we just increase healing amount and DPS, there is nothing difference between support warrior and druid in terms of healing people and DPS. Also, it doesn’t need to be that much tanky as much as Guardian Bunker to avoid similarity in terms of bunkering point. New warrior supporter needs to be kill-able in 1vs1 scenario, taking a bit time tho (as long as enemy has DPS based ammy such as marauder, it should be able to be killed in shorter time than druid or guardian bunker, while assuming that they are un-killable in 1vs1 scenario)

But rather, we can probably think differently that it would be better to include active support skills other than passive like healing. What we need to aim is to become The Active Supporter other than passive healing and bunkering.

I have seen numerous funny ideas in this forum suggested by other people, which is :
1. Banner landing can finish downed enemy (After summoning banner OR when you use “Plant Standard” on enemy’s downed body)

This is actually very funny idea. This will greatly increase the use of Banner in PvP.

And also, here is my ideas to implement some ways of supports:
2. For Great Justice (Shout) : Not just giving might and fury (600 range), it pulls one ally to the your location (range 900~1200). This should be instant pulling.

3. On My Mark (Shout) : Not just applying vulnerability, it slowly pulls one enemy to your current location (600 or 900 range). Actually, it doesn’t need to be instant pulling like engi does (instant pulling enemy is too OP), but, it can be like pulling slowly to your moving direction (like, imagine that you connect rope to your enemy and try to pull them to your position, then you have to move to opposite way from your rope and enemy, right?)

  • Be sure to increase shout healing amount & duration of might, fury, and vulnerability if those 2 pulling skills would have longer cooldown time.

(from 02:50 to 02:58) – you guys need to see what is real support looks like if you cannot imagine how it gonna happen in GW2.

4. “Let’s Get ’Em!” (Elite Shout, the name originates from GW1 warrior shout skill) - Suicide yourself (complete die, not downed state), decrease nearby enemies’s HPs by 50~75% (pretty sure this will make esports drama)

5. Each use of Shout will interrupt nearby enemies shortly (0.1s daze?) due to too loud voice.

6. Enemies stay near the location of summoned banner will also be interrupted shortly (0.1s daze?) due to sudden emergence of banner from the sky (only interrupted one time when banner successfully dropped from the sky to ground)


[CONCLUSION]
Again, there is no meaning to aim to become Bunker, which is already occupied job by Guadian Bunker, or Healer, which is already occupied job by druid.

Implementing active support skill other than healing or bunkering is what I think of that warrior supporter should go like.

So, how do you think of those ideas above?

Of course, all suggestions doesn’t need to be all implemented. (if all is implemented, warrior support could be OP) I am just giving some active support ideas other than passive support such as healing, boons and bunkering.

I do think that this kind of supporting way is probably only a way of implementing supporting class in none-cheesy or none-tanky way, oppposite to previous ShoutBow, current druid, or guardian bunker, which are all cheesy or tanky build.

I like the banner thingy, but making it work just with banner#5, I dont feel like stomping from range is a good idea.
Also, even if pulling an ally to you is an interesting mechanic, dunno, I dont feel this is gonna work well due to the fact that this could override some action taken from your ally, or just be used with the purpose to troll them; for instance, necro pull, due to the fact that pulls downed allies, doesnt have that problem.

I kinda like also the idea of the elite shout, but I think that damaging for that much is broken, and killing yourself is not a funny mechanic. Maybe damaging yourself (no crit) and healing allies for that same dmg? It would be some weird support heal that would scale with might

Ally pulling mechanic will probably mostly used to save some1 who is getting stomp, zerg situation since he got targetted.

as of your idea, it sounds like also weird but also good.

I just come up with that suicide idea becuz lol, dota, starcraft has such a functionality but we don’t have one xD.

Anyway, my design on warrior support focuses on not making warrior cheesy or tanky as much as druid and guardian bunker, but introduces some active support skills, whicj requires players’s own instinct skill, other than passive supports like druid’s huge healing or guardian bunker’s berker ability by giving support warrior skills such as pulling, suicide dps, finishing stuffs that would make esports drama.

I think those kinda activr supporting ability doesn’t make warrior cheesy like previous shoutbow, but highly supportive.
