Anet, I’m having a real tough choice whether or not to craft a legendary. If I finally do end up earning one, I’ll have a shiny PVE Star on top of my name’s icon. I take great pride in NOT having that star. Its like being branded by a PVE mark on your forehead and where ever you go, PVP players will make fun of you.

In your mission to nerf toxicity by eliminating rank displayed, you can also eliminate the star or give us the option to do so. Nobody wants a PVE scrub on their team and the abuses they take is warranted. So take action, implement this feature!

Or…just do world completion on a toon you aren’t going to pvp with. The star is per-character.

And good news…character slot expansions are 40% off right now. If you need another slot, now is the time.

that star is like ~40+ ish hours of PvE.

2 days of PvE. If you judge someone by the star then….. yeah

I have Star and 16500AP. no one ever make fun of me about that when pvp.

I have 4 characters with Map Completion and 4 Legendaries with nearly 15k AP, but that doesn’t judge if you’re bad at PvP. It just means you dedicated time to a different aspect of the game. I’ve played every aspect of this game, but to let a star affect how others see me is just weird. Although I don’t mind having the option to turn off the star, I don’t that think should stop you or make you feel like others would see you differently because of an icon. Rank doesn’t matter in this game, so why should a star make you feel inferior? All that matters is how well you play which will show, whether or not you have that star. So go make that legendary, who cares what people think.

I understand the analogy to hiding ranks (which i think is somehow justified, given how ppl just stack up teams in HJ) but OP must be kidding. Especially considering his last 2 sentences.

Define “PVE scrub” please. Just because some ppl don’t focus only on one aspect of the game doesn’t mean they are “scrubs”, in fact they probably have more experience with game mechanics and teamplay than players who focus purely on pvp.

LOL, did you see the China All star pvp team at gamescom, in the videos of the match? They’ve only had gw2 since may and they pretty much all had at least 1, if not 2 legendaries.

And honestly don’t care about what other people think. The only thing is making a legendary will keep you from spending as much time on pvp, something that I faced in the past. Now I have my shiny howler on my necro (my WvW/GvG main), when I use ele and ranger more for pvp (I don’t use WH on condition ranger builds lol).

Dont get the legendary if it means you will be branded with that evil sign. dont listen to these pve scrubs

If you’re going to run a legendary in sPvP, it has to be Kraitkin, Kamohoali’i Kotaki or Frenzy. When folks see you with one of those on Foefire they’re going to be seriously impressed.

Failing that... take Rodgort. You deserve some respect if you can stomp skilled foes while wielding that - or in the case of Mesmers, if you can be at all useful outside of a sloooow 1v1 decap with it.

You could very well be right but you could also be wrong and they might just be scrubs. I guess only time will tell.

Is there really a point to a legendary with the incoming “standard models”?
