First of here the empty brackets for the finals: http://battlefy.com/mistpedia/tournament-of-legends-2/53bd76c5f7cbde1d090f5160/stage/53bd79818ebc013109df9354/bracket
the seeding system used to fill this is teh following:
they take the average peak ranks on the teamq leaderboard for the teams and then seed them accordingly. By doing this Team Mist was ensured a rank 1 seed(unlike taking just average current rank, which would seed them way lower as tehy dont play actively in q atm). Unfortunately with this system Cheesemode gets 4th seed, so they would meet Team Mist in the Semi Finals. Now if you look at the brackets: http://mistpedia.net/ you can see this does not happen, Cheesemode’s seed got changed to 2nd for no apparent reason, therefore giving Team Mist basicaly a free pass to the final round.
Because of this tampering with the brackets Cheesemode and 55hp might end up boycotting this tournament.
TLDR: Seeds got manipulated to give Team Mist an advantage in the bracket.

Once again Anet continues to struggle with common sense and basic conflict of interest issues. SOAC exposed Mist League when it was found they did not have enough money to cover their sponsored votes, and once again we received distrubing news about GW2esports and this time mistpedia is at the heart of it. We were disturbed by the way the All-star voting went but this is serious rigging to ensure your team gets to the finals.
It’s not fair to the players of Team Mist (helseth, Tage, Denshee, and others) that they are a part of this travesty. Mistpedia needs to resign from running the Tournaments for Anet or walk away from a competitive team. It’s a serious conflict of interest.
Wait… what’s the advantage, doesn’t the audience want the best 2 teams to meet in finals?
Because of this tampering with the brackets Team Mist and 55hp might end up boycotting this tournament.
Why should Team Mist boycotting the tourney or do you mean CM?

I’m sure TM don’t like the idea of being hand held into the finals any more than we like the idea of them getting straight through.
sry my bad after writing all the team names i made a mistake at the end fixed now
Wait… what’s the advantage, doesn’t the audience want the best 2 teams to meet in finals?
A tournament organizer should not have a team of their own in the tournament. They should also not change seeding for no apparent reason other than to give their own team a free ride into the finals.

Ah I didn’t realize it was their own team. But still, how is it a free ride? Does everyone assume the only real competition here is between CM & TM?
Team Mist is good and will more then likely win anyway but it would have been good to see things more consistent for the integrity of the team and the organization. Sad that someone thought they needed this advantage to make the finals. I also had a issue with Cheese mode being ranked so high as well. Especially since their two best members are now on team Mist. Basically a new team and should have been seeded much lower. All star teams where a huge joke too just saying!

It doesn’t matter if the only competition was between CM and TM (which it isnt 55hp is also up there) the fact that they adjusted seeds in a way that gave one team an advantge (Team Mist) and also another team a disadvantage (55hp) should not happen, especially not if the team that got the advantage is also the team running for the organizer of the tournament.
And yes, anotehr team might take an unexpected win vs any of the 3 mentioned teams, but it will be exactly that: unexpected, and also unlikely to be honest.
Don’t they get shuffled randomically at every step? Like quarters, semifinals and finals?
I have no idea what is wrong with you. The reason for seeds is that the most probable winners (in this case TM, CM) would not meet before finals... so any match-making which would put TM vs CM before finals would be just bad.

I don’t even know who is in Enhanced Gaming apart from Xerrex, they are not gonna lose to them. Since we (I Love Lunch) play with DPS guard and necro and Team Exaltation usually has weird comps without thief and/or ele aswell I doubt that TM is gonna lose the semi finals. Meanwhile 55hp Monks and CM will probably play against each other in the other semi final.
It’s highly unlikely that TM doesn’t get into the finals.

The problem isn’t seeding. The problem is they have a seeding setup which they promptly ignored and redid for a possibly better finals. Instead of 55HP getting a significantly easier road than TM. TM now gets the easier road. Manipulating a tournament as important as TOL in a way that favors your own team is highly suspicious. This isn’t the first time they have been accused of manipulating a tournament.
So you have two choices of what to believe:
1). Mistpedia (who is given the reins in every major GW2 Tournament) knowingly rigged the tournament after seeing that TM might have a more difficult road in order to help get a final they liked more. This is a horrible accusation. It essentially means that Mistpedia is trying everything they can for rating to get TM into the finals so that maybe it won’t be 55HP monks facing them again.
2). Mistpedia decided to revamp everything to give a more favorable view, but didn’t realize this would essentially give TM an unfair advantage. They are innocent organizer who would never knowingly promote or help a team get something easily.
They will be releasing a statement later today.
Just to clear this up. Team Mist most likely has nothing to do with this at all. They are probably kittened that they are being brought into this controversy. However with no comment from Helseth, Tage, or any player this looks poor especially after the very very suspicious All-star selections and disappointing games. I received a comment from Helseth (I love the guy.) “Team Mist has nothing to do with the tournament and we just now found out we were playing soon.” They honestly had no idea how the tournament seedings are done. Which is exactly what I figured. Props to Helseth for reaching out to me.
I stand by my statement. I dont’ care if Mistpedia wants to run smaller tournaments for their fans and have their team in it. I do care if they are running the two biggest GW2 Tournaments in the game, and are handling the seeding for it while also having a team in it.

Cant they for once decide what the rules are and stick to them? -.-
I’ll step in and say that I seriously doubt Blu was intentionally trying to rig the bracket. I have no clue what the reasoning behind the seeding was and Im sure he or Will will give yall the full explanation shortly Either way, best of luck to Team Mist, 55HP, CM and all competitors playing in this weekends finals, both NA and EU. All teams earned the right to be there.
Before I make my statement and also enlighten you guys of why I agree mistpedia should not be in charge of tournies, I want to make sure I understand this correctly because if its true…..I have seen it all.
So going into the finals, you guys were originally seeded 4th and going to play TM in the semi’s. But somehow someone redid the seedings so that match up did not happen, and gave you guys 2nd so you guys had to face 55hp monks instead so TM could get a free ride to the finals? If that is the case…..
Mistpedia should never be allowed to run tournies again because their immaturity, unprofessionalism, and favoritism.
I have made comments about Blu and them being extremely biased because you can also hear it in their shoutcasting. It completely takes away from shoutcasting.
Another reason why I have a problem with mistpedia is because of their childish antics. They have done a lot for the pvp scene when no one was helping and want to thank them, but there is the another issue at hand. Now that people are willing to help the PvP scene thrive in terms of shoutcasting and running big tournies, mistpedia wants to push them out and just complain about them having more staff, better tech, and better shoutcasting. We couldve had the same people running ToL2 as we did ToL1 but because ANET allowed Blu to act as if he owns the game, those people that helped with ToL1 were not allowed. Instead of allowing them to help, he tried to do it himself because it seems he doesn’t want anyone showing him how it should be done.
That is where I drew the line. Another thing mistpedia does not do is, they do not enforce rules. Hell, they themselves even break them by reseeding…….. How many tournaments did we see people abuse bugs? How many of them were banned? The only time I saw rules enforced and people threatened of being DQ’d was ToL1, which was a nice change. Even still ToL1 had bug abusers that were not DQ’d.
So If this whole reseeding thing is true, I agree with the OP and ToL needs to be boycotted. I had a problem with how this tournament was being run from day 1. It frustrates me even more that it could’ve been over a month sooner if Blu didn’t have so much power and we had other people running it.

Im responding to this part because its somewhat irrelevant to the OP but should be addressed nonetheless. Will has my statement and MP’s statement on the OP claims coming soon.
MP didn’t work with DPS during ToL2 because there were communication errors between the two parties, had these not existed more than likely we would have worked together.
In regards to your second claim about us not enforcing rules if there is something we may have missed you may contact us at events@mistpedia.net with the details, but at this exact moment we have no outstanding cases of rule violations.

I know a little more in detail then you think. And its not irrelevant at all. I also made a statement saying as to why I believe you guys need to let someone else take over because of the unprofessionalism.
As far as not enforcing the rules, thats in the past so I am not going to go back and find the times bugs were abused to change the outcome of tournies. Its a waste of time. My point is, you guys cant don’t even enforce rules and are to scared to. If someone breaks rules abuses, you don’t DQ them. God forbid if one of your friends abuses a bug, then we will most definitely not see a DQ.
And then don’t let me rant about the false accusations you had against me when I did my interview, when what I said about ToL1 was 100% true and it is being run terribly, and taking way to long.
THE DRAMA IS REAL PLEASE KEEP FEEDING ME I’M STILL HUNGRY. Thank you <3
Lol why are you guys arguing over the way a tournament with no ACTUAL rewards is run? zzz pointless drama, you are just gonna make Hman clinically obese

I would just like to add this very constructive macro image
AYOOO SEUNNN U MISTAA KINGSTON! FEEED ME MORE kthanks!
Hahah I love how someone who isn’t the OP keeps editing the forum title. Nope nothing shady going on here. Come on! Let’s be open and obvious people. If you keep changing the title of the post it’s only going to make it look worse.

Eh, it’s really just a symptom of how poorly executed any GW2 pvp is. Something like this would be absolutely unacceptable for any game with real pvp, so why should it be accepted here?

You could give them some good games and maybe win if things go your way. I don’t think your comp is bad. There are two comps which are “meta” and work in this game:
1, Playing with 5 sustain classes – this works because you can just outlast the opposition and force fights on 3 points where you don’t have many bad match ups.
2, Playing with 3 sustain classes and 2 dps – this is what most teams run.
The reason playing with 3 sustain classes work is that it enables you to have a warrior on 1 point and an ele on another whilst the bunker guard can roam. I have played many games with 4 DPS and 1 bunker guard and the rotations are impossible. You always end up with a necro/thief/dps guard/glass ele holding a point which is obviously not a good thing. Or a bunker guard holding a point which again sucks. Also 3 DPS and 2 sustain classes sucks too. Scenario being you win a mid fight and then who do you leave there? You have no good option.
This game is a miserable experience running these comps vs the meta comps. Purely because rotating your bunker guardian becomes impossible. And running squishy classes without the bunker guardian is hard. I actually think the 3rd best comp is to just run 4 glass cannons and a warrior. Kill them before they kill you.
Your comp is really good. All it lacks is mobility. It is possible you make it to the finals seen as you have strong players too.

this might just be the whiniest thread I’ve ever seen.
It should not matter when teams face each other because the only result that matters is first. if you arnt playing to win it all then you shouldnt be playing to begin with.
get out of here with your greedy whining about consolation prizes, if you consider yourselves to be a competitive team then you should be embarrassed by your loss, not happy with whatever garbage pve reward you happen to get.
Game is so esports, tol full of pvers rofl
regardless of what happens with the godkitten seeding the best team will still win
Was there any doubt in people’s mind that EU had 3 clear cut teams above all the rest?
That means the 1 seed will have it easier until the finals, because 2 and 3 face each other before hand.
Not that it matters, because I’m sure Team Mist feels they could have a rule specifically for them that they have to play all 7 teams in the ToL in order to win. Barring disconnects or some outside influence they probably would too.
It’s unfortunate that the team and mistpedia had to part ways because of this. That relationship resulted in quality improvements to streams and resulted in some unknown streams being discovered or newly created.

Regardless, The only real issue to me was that Mistpedia only worked with the one team. Had they help build other successful teams and promoted other teams I don’t think it would have been an issue. However they only had one team, “The Flagship Team” and regardless if there was any favoritism it still looks bad. The other issue I had was some of the players bad behavior from time to time while streaming and representing Mistpedia.
kittenG morf is hilarious. “Oh you guys break so many rules so childish! What you want an example or proof? Noooo I don’t have time for that! Just believe me I swear. I’m the best guard NA remember????”
