Warriors are the best PvE and PvP class. Yet ArenaNet feels it’s apt to only shave the class, if they even nerf at all.

I don’t know how long a class needs to dominate before something is done. Maybe the year mark will be enough for the developers.

BWE 3 Rangers. Haven’t been the same since, it’s a bit of a running joke that “the next patch will see more Ranger nerfs”, which is funny, until they actually do in every subsequent patch. But don’t worry, Anet keep ending their vids with “Don’t worry, something cool is on the way for Rangers…”

I have played warrior more than anything else and I think cleansing ire should be a grandmaster trait, merciless hammer should be reduced to 10% damage increase or simply a higher crit chance instead of auto-damage increase, and fast hands should be a master major trait instead of minor. also, combustive shot is a little too large simply because of how small the capture nodes are in conquest.

but forget all that, if merciless hammer was moved into the tactics tree instead it would completely “fix” the hambow build because right now the 2 most important traits of the build are both in the same tree which allows for burst mastery to add to it, whereas if it was in tactics you could still get the hammer trait, cleansing ire, and burst mastery, but you’d lose out on the 10 in strength, armored attack, and defy pain, and have to pick up something else like longbow range increase.

zerker stance is powerful but the uptime is only 13% and 17% if traited. If it was changed to be reduced condi duration instead of immunity, it would need shorter CD or increased duration to make sure it’s useful.

or it would have “stacks” as in the skill has no duration, it simply auto-clears the next 5 incoming conditions or something.

One big problem I see with Hambow is the Cleansing Ire, Burst Mastery, Longbow synergy. The ability to clear 3 conditions with only 2 bars of adrenaline on top of being able to give yourself might by blasting that fire field every 8 seconds too strong. Making cleansing ire actually cleanse 2 conditions (because you are only using 2 bars) would go a long way into balancing this out. Maybe increasing the base cooldown on combustive shot to 12 seconds instead of 10 if the cleansing part isn’t enough.

I can see eviscerate from asuras just fine. I never get hit by eviscerates.

I can tell you already that I didnt see anybody using the most “OP” things yet on ToL NA. We The Civilized Gentlemen didnt find our complete perfected line-up with builds yet. We already noticed a lot of other things that we didnt even use in the EU ToL just a few days after.

I’m simply stating, stop being so drastic in judgement and basing all of your ideas off of this ToL in NA. Some talk about buffs and nerfs like thats the answer to your issues. Its fun how people just cant stand maybe not being as superior as you they think they are. Simply train with mates and become better instead of shoving the NERF-towel into the winners face.

+ 1 to you ROM, wish there were more people with a clear head about these things.

Yeah. Obviously if I’m forced to stay on node I’ll run out of mitigation though..

If you’re struggling with particle effects make sure your graphics are set to minimum

I think there are much stronger comps than double war at the moment. The meta is still adjusting so double war is a pretty ‘safe’ option but I believe we’re going to see composition changes after the tournament, at least among the top teams.

Is that why you only ever play war?

Fact is wars are OP. Team with a war or two will always have better chance than a team without a war.

Rar only ever plays warrior because that’s his main class lol.

Why learn a new profession when you’re already good at one and have been using it in every tournament so far.

And warrior’s longbow is what keeps them alive in a 1v1 situation. Without longbow warriors would be free kills for any thief/mesmer/engi and even necro with minions.

Thanks for admitting that warrior relies on combustive shot spam to win 1v1s against a variety of classes.

How about, we shave some of longbows power, and add it to other weapon sets for warrior, huh? Maybe this is what balancing is about, yeah? That way warriors are not pidgeonholed into running longbow to be viable.

f1 combustion shot – overall damage reduced by 15%
3 arcing arrow – overall damage reduced by 15%
5 pin down – activation time increased

Warriors’ weakness, when the game was released, was supposed to be conditions. Now, equipped with cleansing ire, berserker’s stance, and a massive starting health pool, warriors are juggernauts.

Spot on. The cleansing portion of Cleansing ire would be balanced if it weren’t for how easy it is to gain adrenaline (partly due to Cleansing Ire itself for adrenaline on hit, but also Signet of Rage, Berserker Stance, and Burst Mastery for reducing the cost), and how quickly burst skills recharged.

As one of the best players in this game, I can tell you from the bottom of my heart, that Asurans are one of the biggest advantages in PvP. This game doesn’t have cast bars correct? So the biggest advantage is, dealing damage without your enemy knowing whats going on. Asurans have no equal because of how small they are, and its hard to pick out what they are doing even without the 1000000000 particles flying around. It would be wise to ban Asurans from the rest of the tournaments in Tpvp. Or have a future goal to make all characters have the same model in actual tournaments.

Back on topic though:
I think more boon stealing can help help balance out the strength rune meta. Give classes skills to steal the might stacks and you would require warriors and eles to properly cc those skills to keep their might/stability.

I doubt he was using Soldiers if he Evic for 6125 on a bunker. I get those kind of numbers with a zerker amulet though.

The current warrior evic meta uses int sigils with soldiers amu. so yes, they evic on cd so they can use the int sigil on the actual evic and the air proc. im not an “elite pro” i just learn through playing hundreds of warriors and learn the pattern.

The heal is nice on many classes. But an Engi dies in 4-5 sec in focus fire in team fights. The lack of good stunbreaker/condi removal and no stability no gap closer/teleport are main reasons. Warrior with the perfect AE CC and a lot of stability is way harder to kill. Base HP/Armor not included. Check the team fights in ToL. Team fights baby

Something clearly needs to be done.

People keep comming up with buzz words “condition meta”“Gank meta”“Might meta”.

Really? Going to ignore the obvious one? Its a Guardian/Warrior meta and it has been for over a year now. Not just in spvp, but also in WvW and PvE.

These two professions are so ludicrously overpopulated and overly represented in every part of the game, it boggles my mind that no one at arenanet has even taken any steps about this.

Warriors were more then twice the representation of Mesmers, or Engineers, or Rangers. Same for Guardians who were even more prevalent with an average of more then 1 guardian per team.
And then ofcourse the vast majority of an already overly abundant Warrior population plays Hambow.

Out of all the possible professions and builds you could imagine and fit in a team, Hambow was almost guarenteed to be one of them.
Statistics dont lie, these two professions fill an important role that is seemingly vital, but no other profession can compete them for. And that needs to change, one way or another.

I play warrior and I support a nerf to the braindead playstyle that is longbow. This weapon needs a complete overhaul to make it interesting and not completely stupid to play. An ability that involves targeting the ground should deal damage inversely proportional to its radius and duration.

I’d say evic damage needs a nerf but after playing thief and engy for a couple months I feel really squishy on my warrior due to lack of mobility, evades, healing, prot and stealth.

Engies can heal for ~1000 health per second using the current celestial build math for non believers:

184 regen tick + 139 kit regen + (5474 turret heal + 4200 blast heal + 3344 elixer gun)/20 seconds = 184 + 139 + 650 = 973 health per second

Accounting for player skill management we can say an attentive player will probably have around 900-940 health per second while playing the build.

Anyway, warriors feel pretty naked in comparison to all that sustain and I never have trouble killing them with my engy/thief/ele because of how obvious the telegraphs are so I dont think it warrants concern until people get better at the game.

The heal is nice on many classes. But an Engi dies in 4-5 sec in focus fire in team fights. The lack of good stunbreaker/condi removal and no stability no gap closer/teleport are main reasons. Warrior with the perfect AE CC and a lot of stability is way harder to kill. Base HP/Armor not included. Check the team fights in ToL. Team fights baby

With 2400 base armor and prot buff they take less physical damage than a warrior while healing for twice as much per second, on top of that they get vigor, 2 leaps, the best shield block, 2 low cooldown kiting skills and are meant to be in teamfights so condis won’t be a problem thanks to all the staff eles.

A lot of professions have trouble filling multiple roles, hell a bunch of professions have trouble filling even a single role.

This might also hurt Guardians in another way, if you are good at A then everyone expects A from you.

If you have any experience with a game like WoW then you know what i mean. Classes had several builds available to them, but if one of them was a healing build then you were a healing class. Show up as anything but a healer and be ready for verbal abuse.

I dont think GW2 is that terrible or has such a toxic community as WoW did back in “those” days. But certain expectations are set. Which in turn might very well hold other potential builds back.

Regardless, if something is so important that you always need someone to do it, having only one profession able to pull it off will stiffle diversity. And again, i think simply looking at the statistics says enough. This is a game wide issue.

I agree with what you are saying here and yes I played wow and can definitely see the comparisons you are making. It is very similar. You aren’t the first to be vocal about the lack of diversity, but from one end of the spectrum I believe the players themselves are at fault. Since most stick to tried and tested builds others have run or slight modifications of them.

To see something like a dps or condition guardian in a pvp group is probably on the experimental side of things. Everyone expects the worst and no one is too certain how well they will fill the role outside of bunker. I personally feel that guardians non bunker specs are decent, but the bunker role is far beyond any non bunker guardian builds. Guardian is suppose to be the ally support class, so its no accident they are the best for this particular role.

The question is what can other classes do to support as good as guardian without replicating one? Probably not much, boons and conditions are homogeneous so getting other classes to support as well as guardian would be no easy task. This of course is my opinion.
