Tomorrow's big patch. You excited?
im excited for balancing (hoping to see the aoe and ele nerfs) and guild missions. that being said i know i will be disappointed by the former.
its on tuesday, not tomorrow
its on tuesday, not tomorrow
Time zones!!!
so for eu it is wednesday
Not excited in the least. I’m more worried than anything.
Maybe they have removed water heals and the ele base HP has been increased by 5k along with few inbuilt dodge skills like ice wall, burning retreat, maybe they have reduced execution time of dragon’s tooth and buffed shatterstone, maybe they fixed bugged traits, maybe they have buffed focus, signets and glyphs, maybe our elites are finally worthwile……yeah yeah I know I’m dreaming
sigh :-(….it will never happen unfortunately
Maybe one day we won’t have to hope, and instead will know what is coming in the patch a few weeks ahead of time.
PvP communities hate surprises, and Anet is chock full of them.
I’m excited for some deserved nerfs to come in and improve the current meta; excited to watch the pvp community explode with hyperbole and cry out loud about 2-3 “totally unfair” nerfs; and excited about any buffs that they said they would make to underused skills, to see how they change and improve the meta, all the while the pvp forum community ignoring them in the midst of their massive black hole of whining. :P
And the new pvp map too.
EDIT: Oh, and I like pvp surprises, btw. They are more refreshing this way.

You can more or less predict what will happen…nothing too bad for the good players and nothing too good for the bad players, the first will adapt to the few changes and welcome the obvious buffs to other facets..the latter will keep crying as the changes won’t level the field in their favour.
But more than anything..changes are not permanent, that’s a concept that few realize
Totally excited about esports patch! kitten YEAH
RETIRED MESMER YO!
Yeah, a new map is always a good addition.
Hopefully they won’t outright kill elementalists, otherwise one less person will be playing that map
Ele & thief main (full ascended)
Down with the braindead faceroll classes.
Eles will be destroyed, cannot wait.
I hope Mesmer will be deleted! Hahaha just kidding.
I will find all bug in new maps and use them before they were fixed
(edited by KINGRPG.3492)
I’ll work all day then come home, take the dog out for a walk, cook dinner, take a shower, eat dinner, play with my daughter before she goes to bed and THEN I’ll log in to try out the new map and for some wvwvw with my guild.
About Eles do not expect major nerfs! They will be tooned down but not as much as you hope they will. I’m a thief and there as been whining about us since beta and although most people would like us to be nerfed to the ground that never happened thieves were tooned down but always maintained viability. That’s what I expect ele wise.

Unfortunately, I already know what’s coming. We’ll get:
- minor fixes here and there with their “slow and steady approach”
- A few statements about how they never really promised anything for February and gave a time frame for the “first quarter of 2013”
- Lots of flaming on the forums where people make thread titled “@DEVS”
- More people quit, the game continues to die its slow and agonizing death
- I walk away for good
That’s about it.

Ill be pleasantly surprised if we see any significant balance changes. 6 months and the same specs are still dominating. Few viable builds

If they nerf the ele substantially even further and dont give end game incentives to WvW, i will still play gw2, but once eso comes out, i will give it a try.
I’m surprised no one’s belittled my mention of binging on health–destroying fast food. What a show of class.
Might check in to see the new map. Already wrote this game off as the population is smaller everytime i do my “check-in” since early november. Still should be a fun day or two. Too many awesome titles coming out this year to really show this game anymore patience. But definitly excited to see new map. Always thought a map likes WoW’s eye of the storm would do well here. Just wish it was put in sooner.
What’s with all the ele hate? Its OP thieves that ruins pvp for everyone. Oh I get it, thieves have trouble killing d/d eles, yeh lets nerf em.

There’s more to the world than hotjoin.
I’m super excited….
to see nothing but tooltip corrections for warriors and nerfs to dps, scepter/staff and condition eles in order to balance the *bunker*ele build (firmly forcing all eles that didn’t run the bunker build in hopes of viability TO run the bunker 10-30-30 build because it’s all that’s left with the most remote viability)…
You know, kind of how they’ve done the previous patches
Yaks Bend
Yap, i’m quite excited. good to see things shake up.
see according to what I’ve seen in the last 6 months, I think that this time they give him to pvp quite a coup de grace, and at all hopes (vain) of pvpers
.. a bit, but I can’t see how it is going to get all my friends back into the game. So the outcome is more or less given no matter what they introduce.
Engineer
Elixir S: This skill is now correctly makes the caster smaller and applies blind for 1.5s, as originally intended. There is now a random chance for the elixir to backfire and make the engineer twice as large and confuse him for 9 seconds.
Grenade Barrage: This skill’s damage has been increased by 37%, and the number of grenades has been reduced to 3. Grenades now apply poison for 4 seconds.
Warrior
Bull’s Charge: This skill is now a projectile combo finisher.
Eviscerate: This skill’s damage has been reduced by 30%, and now applies a random condition for 3 seconds.
Kill Shot: This skill has been removed, and replaced with a new skill, Head Shot.
Head Shot: This skill fires a powerful shot to the opponent’s head, causing them to run with fright. Applies fear for 1s, which increases by 1s for each level of Adrenaline. The activation time has now been correctly increased to 8 seconds, as was originally intended.
Necro
Ghastly Claws: This skill’s damage has been increased by 13% and updated to indicate the correct life force gained.
Mesmer
Portal: This skill’s tooltip has been corrected to show the true recharge rate of 92 seconds.
Ranger
Protect Me: Pets will now correctly absorb all damage against the Ranger and store it inside their bodies as potential energy. Once a total damage equal to 40% of the Ranger’s hit points has been absorbed, the pet will open its mouth and mightily roar at the enemy target, releasing the stored energy as a blinding blue beam which hits all enemies near the beam and the target for 200% of the absorbed damage, plus a bonus damage equal to 50% of the Ranger’s combined power, precision, and toughness if the target is suffering from a condition, as originally intended.
Guardian
Empower: This skill no longer stacks might, but instead applies quickness for 10 seconds for each pulse. There is now a 5% chance for the Guardian to be teleported to a random capture point for each pulse.
Thief
Thieves no longer passively gain initiative. Initiative can now only be gained while stealthed. Stealth can now correctly be toggled on or off using F2.
Elementalist
Elementalist’s have been changed to a heavy class and can now use greatswords and wear heavy armor, as originally intended. In addition, Elementalists now have the “Gold’s Gym” attunement which grants them access to all Warrior skills and utilities.

I’m excited to see what new thing bads will cry about in regards to mesmer!!!
Expecting everything from one patch is silly..
They even said they’re already working on a second patch with other PVP content :/
New map is a big plus, balance changes? yes please. Maybe a little bit of incentivising spvp
Daily tournies/Monthly tournies maybe?
Rating system ? as promised? please please please..
I have high hopes for this patch but fixing all the problems in the game with one patch is impossible, don’t have expectations over what’s humanly possible.
Why ppl is Expecting lot of things like they dont know whats comming? is that HOPE?
Tomorrow you are getting THIS: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/february-2013/
Plus Few Minor Class Changes…
No, there is not custom arenas, spectator mode or new game mode for Spvp, neither big class changes….so beside this…what else matter? hopefully the Rating system could be fine so put your hopes in it for tomorrow and stop the hype about a “Game Changer Patch” … =S

But we will be able to preview item in the trading post
Balance Changes:
Ride the Lightning: This ability’s recharge has been increased to 25 seconds.
That is all.
Balance Changes:
Ride the Lightning: This ability’s recharge has been increased to 25 seconds.
That is all.
If this happens then, imo, it wont change that much. Eles are so tanky they dont need to escape more than every 25 seconds….
I mean it will help stop ele’s just get around the whole map ridic fast which is welcome I suppose but it doesnt really solve the whole always healing problem. Or the fact that 2 of them can stack 25 stacks of might and perma have almost 100% health even vs 3 other dudes.

You made my heart black..I found some truth in your words that made me even more black hearted
So tomorrow’s the big patch. Are you going to do anything to celebrate?
As for me I’m going to order two buckets of fried chicken and McDonald’s or Taco Bell, get my ice cubes ready and a 24 pack of Coke. I’m going to be eating all that while checking out the new and improved Guild wars two. I’ll be staying up till probably 5 AM in the morning just snacking and playing.
I live right by Taco Bell and it’s open 24 hours so I can get more food too.
Man…I gotta ask…how’s your weight? Do you know what your blood pressure is?
I work in a medical field and observe too many guys in their teens and 20s who are obese and heading for a heart attack.
Just sayin’ in a friendly way. Be careful.
The improved matchmaking and the new map, as advertised, and for March’s update, hopefully, the custom arenas and the spectator mode, as we know that’s what the devs are currently working on.
I’m also interested in seeing how much the new map might refresh upon the conquest experience. Lord and buffs from other pvp maps made conquest more interesting, but they did not make it more refreshing. However, from what I’ve read so far, the new CTF objective seems to be very relevant, considering that it’s at the middle of the map, doesn’t requires you to wait much time for it to be available each time, and that it can disable entire points regardless of bunker builds. Something tells me that this new map has the most potential for interesting team mobility (which conquest always wants to achieve) and a few refreshing, different gameplay experiences fãnd builds around the “flag”.
(edited by DiogoSilva.7089)
What i expect? Tooltip fixes, new map, ele and mesmer buffs.
If they nerf ele too much, I will delete it and make a thief.

Nothing to be expected, everything already known.
Eles are so tanky they dont need to escape more than every 25 seconds….
Yup. Cause this statement, and the rest of your drivel, applies baseline to the ele class regardless of weapons used or build. Mmhmm. My 0/20/15/15/20 spec sure is just as tanky as the 10-30-30 is and can stand around a group of enemies for 25 seconds without dying in my dps gear. Yup. Sure.
Yaks Bend
Abit excited, just to see if they make players happy or not as it is make or break time, and we have waited for this time long enough.
Maybe some new skins ?:) Would be nice if they added some new skins to spvp…
not excited, I expect to be disapointed…

I’m looking forward to seeing the awesome effects for the ranger beam!
