DismÁy (Ele)
Teeheef (Bad Thief)
All I ever seen on the PvP forums is whining and bickering. I personally love PvP (except hotjoins, but no one is making me play those) and spend most of my log time playing tourneys with friends. I don’t think that certain classes have a huge advantage and I don’t encounter many bugs. I do wish there were more types of objectives than just domination but I can and do deal with just having that one option. I just wanted to make this thread to show my love for the game and to get away from all the QQ. Am I the only one?
You are whining about whining.

And to quickly add, give reasonable arguments why they shouldn’t complain about what they feel is broken or even worse been broken post release in this game?
The “don’t like it, don’t play it” group has been spamming their garbage enough with that remark, the “don’t like it, shut up and don’t play it” isn’t going to be met with much better a reception.
there is a huge culture of negativity on MMO main boards.
the MMO generation uses main forums to attempt to bend the developer’s ear, & in 90% of cases, this involves changing something they dislike. this creates the “cesspool effect”, where if you dwell for too long in these forums, you will start to feel like nobody likes anything about the game, when this is far from the truth.
go to guild / community forums or reddit & you will find plenty of positive / productive discussion. when i talk with players in-game, it is almost always positive. but main forums do not positivity make.
i can understand why Mythic did not want to have main forums for WARHAMMER at first, until they caved to pressure to put them up—they understood the effect that dev forums have on their player population.
Yeah the complaining is incredibly tiresome. Especially from some of the louder upstarts. I pretty much gave up on complaining about “OP” things a while ago, and through that adopted the philosophy that, if you refuse to complain, you’re left with only 3 options, despair, quit, or the route I choose, analyze and adapt. Not talking just builds, if you want tissue paper for armour so you can tear off death’s arm and use it as a sword. Just keep in mind there are threats that exist that you’ll have to react to.

Just because “you don’t think that certain classes have a huge advantage” does not make you correct. Certain classes DO have a huge advantage and some have an equal footing fighting any class. Like a ranger specced for evade can fight any class and almost always win a 1 vs 1 or bunkers can have 2 to 3 people hitting them for awhile before their team comes. If you don’t understand each class has their own advantage over another class in terms of how they are specced, you have no idea what an mmo is.

For broken we always talk about real bugs and issues, not that build used by that profession which you can’t beat using the same old build, so people complain rather than adapt……
I dont think MMOs should have offical boards.
When i actually want a conversation on specs tactics I go to community boards.
Why do people even read forums if they don’t like whining?
yea crazy people are whining when paids dont even pop during off hours, free queue times keep getting longer and consist of premades stomping pugs, casuals hate mindless hot join and get discouraged, the mists are dead, etc.
no reason to whine, pvp is doing just fine.
this is starting to sound like the SWTOR forums. “guys stop whining game is fine, fixes are coming, people are just busy playing and not posting” 2 months later game goes F2P

Well, if the state of PvP was perfect you wouldn’t hear much criticism.
Well, if the state of PvP was perfect you wouldn’t hear much criticism.
If the state of pvp was perfect, no one would notice because no one has the exact same idea of “perfect”.
Player’s are better off to accept things as they are and learn to work with what their given. That mentality get’s a player to start looking at their situation and start problem solving and the more they problem solve, the stronger they get as players.

That’s the most backwards of logic. Players that accept imbalance and poor design only serve to feed them. Look at hotjoin and what new PvPers are introduced when they first start playing. ANet needs to step in and fix their game, because balance and a competitive environment is designed. It’s relative success of players using the strategies the developers encourage them to use and the format and environment they use them it. It doesn’t form from pure entropy.

How is it backwards? Labeling challenges as insurmountable is useless, and does nothing to help one grow. So if you reject the possibility that something is impossible to beat, the next logical step is to analyze the challenge and find a means to overcome it. It may be hard but once you make a breakthrough you can start building off that, fine tuning it, perfecting your execution, until finally you’ll overcome the challenge, and the spoils of this victory all the practical experience you’ve gained along the way.

Uh… what?
I don’t think you can define the issues with GW2’s PvP as “challenges” for the players. The only challenges it offers at the moment is for them to coming back.

I’m not talking the things like lack of matchmaking, if that’s what you’re talking about. I’m addressing all the nerf demands.
In any case, on that note as with all things, there’s two ways of looking at anything. And I chose to take the optimist route. So my view on PvP currently is, it’s incomplete but more will be added, so may as well make the best of what “is” there. Let the rest come as it comes.

Oh look, a new batch of kittens fresh off the assembly line. I’m not whining, I’m voicing my opinion. And there AREN’T classes with distinct advantages as much as there are good and bad players. If the classes were as unbalances as all you QQers whine about then I’d suspect there’d be a much swifter response from Anet. You idiots successfully ruined my day.

You should just leave the forums I mean seriously. WTF…
What do you expect a forum to be like?
Also you are QQing louder than anyone in this thread from what I can tell.

Thanks, nimrod, I do plan to leave the forums. All I see on here is a bunch of negative pricks that have nothing better to do than bring each other down. I used to think the community surrounding this game was a farcry from the snot-nosed maladjusted ingrates that inhabit other MMOs but I’m glad (not) to see that mentality persists.

I think you should also just leave life. I mean you probably don’t belong.
Thank you once again for reinforcing my point. Did you not get your cheerios this morning child? Find something better to do than to try and get peoples goat. It’s unbecoming and loathsome. Now go out and play nice now, don’t make daddy scold you again.
Yea. I think life has passed you by. I mean you even sound like you have no soul. Might as well just let it go.
That was weaksauce. Surely an accomplished troll like yourself can do better than that.
I actually think that the general forums are mild compared to other games, which means that ANet does an incredible job with the game IMHO, cuz whiners will always be there, but if you can keep it at this level, your game is doing great.
IMHO, you should be able to see ppl’s Ranks, QP’s and Tournament-wins on the forums, cuz I do believe that this game has A LOT of newbs whining about things they don’t understand. ^^’
Anet just need to funnel more effort into pvp, to bring it to the stat of balance where GW1 was at which (imho) was one of the most balanced and enjoyable pvp games around, the same company could surely do it again if they wanted to, it seems pvp is stuck in the kiddy seat at the moment though while PvE is the focus.
more focus on PvP = sooner balanced state = less asking for balance (which you call whining)
