Last night I was watching a stream of a well known ESL player playing another persons account and he was able to get into the top 10 with it. For obvious reasons I am not going to point fingers because I don’t want this thread deleted but he was in the same TS/Skype call of the account owner, and they were blatantly talking about it which also included him asking what his keybindings were and telling the other person in voice coms he was changing some among other things. Afterwards when the streamer logged off/went to sleep, that same account continued to que some games which then dropped him back out of the top 10 but still top 25, some people might know who I’m talking about because their were a lot of people watching.
This isn’t a matter of a player playing an alt account, it was quite clear that it was account sharing based on the chatter and my question to Anet is will you be doing anything about this sort of issue. This type of thing was quite rampant in another MMO you directly compete with(WoW) and often nothing was done. People even often agreed to share Rank1 titles too by having the exact same rating which I personally never saw a problem with as long as it didn’t involve account sharing or throwing games which often did happen, and I’m quite certain by the end of the season this game will also have 5+ people sharing Rank 1, whether it’s through illegitimate means or not, is yet to be seen. Will you(Anet) be keeping logs of IP addresses on the top accounts getting titles this season to prevent this sort of thing from happening, as that would be the easiest way to deal with it, or are you going to just let it happen, because account sharing the top titles is already happening.
