Guild Wars 2

So I’ve been looking at my past battles in ranked PvP. One thing I’ve noticed is that the team with the higher total rank points wins. Total rank points is the sum of the individual leader board rank point of the team members. Is this just mere coincidence or is there some sort of correlation, an indicator of who will win the match? Maybe the MM algorithm should use rank points instead of rank itself to match players?

the amount of work put into this is rather impressive. but i don’t think there is too much of a correlation. in fact two of the biggest win margins were on two of the closest matched rank points. and two of the closer games (500-300s) were some of the larger margins. to have that many outliers on so small a sample would make me think something is incorrect. also personal experience would make me think no too
