[Toughness Meta] the Truth.
My favorite things to hear on the stream. “This fight isn’t going to go anywhere” and “well this match is over (1 min in)”.
While pure damage might have been the only viable thing in the past, at least people died. They’ve turned a complete 180, and I think it’s for the worse. I recall games where I went absolute glass thief,(zerker/pack runes with crit. strikes, deadly arts, and DD) and barely hit over 1k on stone heart eles with vault. When zerker auto attacks barely hit triple didgets, you know there’s a problem.
More amulets are not being used… they added a few and people are still using the same ones, marauder, rabid, cele… stop trying to justify the kittenhole pvp is in.
The only “new” amulet I am aware of being used is viper. Apart from that the meta is even more cele-focused than ever.
well…. you are doing affirmations without argument, but it is ok.
i asked lots of people what do they use.
Some use: Soldier, marauder, knight, cele, rabid, viper, settler , cleric.
You talk as if they changed the game, but they didn’t Those sustain were there before, but just unused..more or less.
Some classes deal to much damage to be faced as berserker.
This is a response from the community to this high damage.
How many berserker thief i saw running in those Dragon hunter traps and dying instantly.
This is also a response to the heavy damage dealt by conditon’s build.
People use their cleaning condi traits, which result in adding automaticly more sustain.
How do you win a match in guild wars 2 pvp?
You capture points. It is not necessary to kill somebody to achieve this.Tactical push, pull or immobilize are enough.

I just played a match where I think both teams had maybe 2 or 3 player deaths and it was the most boring match ever
I initially started leagues playing mostly my condi reaper played a bit on my ranger but shortly stopped as i am not that much of a masochist. Did ok on my reaper but i would slot skills which made me very effective at destroying a certain class but then ineffective when fighting another . Pre game i would check what professions the other team where gonna be using and try slotting the most useful skills . It became really frustrating as rather than using my ability to beat another player i was just having to react to whatever meta build the player is running and outfit myself with the sole purpose of being able to beat them .
In the end i rolled an ele ported straight to the mists after starting quest , dagger and focus , celi aura tempest. And holy kitten on a prof i have zero experience on its sooo easy if you think this is skill i don’t know what to say . It needs to be atleast 3v1 for me to actually die i only do the pvp dailies anymore as i feel like way to much of a kitten playing like this.
Build with toughness, were always strong build in pvp.
Your frustration about people having toughness is unjustified. Now it just requires skill to beat your enemies, and try to burst at the right moment and not random skill chain combo. It requires skill to decap or cap against people being able to hold point.Amulet diversity:
We have so many amulets in pvp, but before HOT and those patch. They were just useless. People used to play with berserk or cele or rabit. 70% of the amulets were just useless. Now this is different, more amulets are used.In the past you were just called trash or not acknowledge to use other Amulets than Berserk. There were and still are classes which don’t really benefit from Berserk amulet, but were almost forced to use it.
Reaction to High Damage:
Playing berserk really really give you a High damage output.
So high that people, have to use some toughness not to die. The damage is High in the game. You called for so much useless nerf because everybody were fixed on playing some glass build. Now you just suffer from your own cry and cry more. Because you may lack of damage.
Pvp is and were never a place to come and just burst people in 2 sec. This time was wrong and happily is gone.
All this crying about meta bunker is ridiculous.
ehhhh actualy that exatly how pvp worked most of the time in gw1, my favorite build was rspike …3…2…1….BOOM, dead if the monk didnt saw it coming
edit: was also alot more fun for me then the current pvp where you stand on points
I don’t know about meta-sheep, but I play and tweak my own builds and the new amulets sure find their way into them. Notably the wanderer and crusader for my necro.
My trapper druid is very happy with his carrion. So yeah berserk/marauder is not the only way to play if you’re willing to look for your fighting style at:
