Tournament Matching
my guess is it’s part and parcel to the growing pains of the matchmaking system combined with generally low PvP population, and the populations recent re-focused attention on paid matches.
meaning, that was probably the best the matchmaking system could do for you at that time.
the incredibly long que times as well seem to yield us more imbalanced matches as well. I’d like to see ANet change the que mechanics by dropping players from the roster after logging out, since the absentees are obviously not in game (otherwise they’d be in the match, even in afk) though they haven’t been removed from the roster (or just didn’t know to remove themselves before leaving the game). Removing players from the que upon log out would also prevent teams from changing characters mid match to accommodate for their poor first-choice comp.
I’ve stayed at this party entirely too long
there is no reason to play paid(no ladder with rewards and no tournaments) so will just faceroll pug in frees all the time… if you want to get in to gw2 pvp get used to it
-rank 41 guardian-
-Desolation EU-
There is none?
Also when matchmaking is implemented the rank it goes off is a hidden number, not your pvp glory level. Versing a premade is hell and that is probably why your team mate left like a pansy man. Or he was hungry, either way.
Glory lvl means nothing.
I have 2 accounts, 1 has only played a few pvp matches. If I play my elementalists build as a rank 1 am I a bad player? My grinded rank would say so. But my other accounts rank would say I’m mediocore.

Free tournaments don’t have any matchmaking yet. As soon as 8 teams sign up, the tournament starts.
As an added problem, most average players are forming groups and doing paid tournaments now, since they have matchmaking and 1team vs 1team. So free tournaments are mostly populated by very new players and very experienced players who don’t want to do a paid until they have the exact 5-man team they want.
