Tournament Timeout bug/fix/solution
we’re 5 guys who have the exact same problem since this morning. Wish they could fix it soon since it’s getting kinda boring staring in the mists…
Just as an update on this current situation, which has not changed at all…
I’ve tried logging on all of my characters, and:
1. tried leaving the roster
2. left heart of the mist
3. deleted a few of them
In addition to this I’ve tried creating a new character, where the problem continues to exist. I’ve sent an ingame bug report, I’ve contacted the support via the forums and made this post, no responses from anyone besides Tang up there.
I’ve trawled the interwebses and have not found any solutions outside of this forum. I’ve tried solutions for error codes similar to mine (42:0:9001:3968 for example) that suggested I should create a new shortcut and rename it as a port test… Didn’t work. I realise that the things I’ve done already to try to fix it myself are very unlikely to work, but I’m superstitious like that.
Eagerly awaiting response from the support team, a forum mod or anyone who has been able to sort this out themselves, since this is doing my head in. Not to mention my tournament team. As a sidenote, a guy in my tournament team had to wait 3 weeks to get a response to his request for a gm/support employee or whatever, and I am in no way comfortable about that situation, nor is my tournament team.
Tang, let me know if the situation changes for you or the 5 others you know with this problem…
Anyone else in a similar situation, post or present – I’d like to hear what you’ve done to resolve it, as I am running out of ideas.
We’ve sent bug report as well with screenshots. But it would indeed be very unfortunate if we would have to wait 3 weeks to get a respone from the support team – since we are like you very active and only doing pvp in gw2 and spending 99% of our time doing paid tournaments etc.
I sincerely hope an employee sees this thread and does something about it soon or we’ll not be able to play our favorite content of the game for, who knows how long…
I am currently in contact with the support guys and have done two Game Advisor tests, which they have requested. Apparantly they are ruling out the posibilities of the problem being at my end, which I am fairly confident it isn’t, since it happened to the other people in my random pug free tourny team as well. Anyways, the problem still persists.
One of the guys I mentioned has made a forum post in the Game Bug section, concerning the exact same problem:

Have you tried switching servers?
Right, just got a response from the support team. They told me to update my graphics drivers, and to create a new account on my computer with admin privileges, then try to log in again and see if the problem persisted. Did it, but it didn’t fix anything at all.
I sorta already had the feeling it wouldn’t fix anything since everything points to the problem being on their end and not mine/ours…
I’ll keep you updated on the situation and what the support guys tell me to do…
@lonederanger – I have thought about it, but not tried it out – if you do and get results from it, please let me know.
