Well, we had half week of “fun” new patch now.
What are your rankings for builds/classes? Keeping in mind tourney set-up (teamplay), not 1v1 or HJs.
Which class combos have better synergy nowdays in your opinion? For example i met duo consisting of necro and ele which held point vs multiple enemies for very long time (which i think is a good thing for necros :P)

-d/f might stacking cele ele (1vs1/semi bunker)
-staff cele ele(good team support, good damage)
-bunker guardian(people really don’t realize this kitten is op)
-mantra/interrumpt mesmer(demigod)
-whatever engi build(gods)
-zerker/marauder warrior(high damage, good survivability, RAMPAGE)
-thief d/p(basically the same if you go for SA, CS is IMO a better option)
-condi bunker ranger(annoying af, harder than a rock, condis are meh and taunt is op in teamfights)
-necros(imo they’re still not good enough for the new meta, yes they’re annoying more bunker whatever you say but I don’t see them over mesmers or engis)

I think that’s all.

It is too early to form rankings… But the previous list has a few of the strong builds. However, I’ve seen much variety amongst them as well. For instance, I play a cele staff ele with earth: armor of earth, stab, and stone heart ; water: frost aura, cantrip mastery, and cleansing water ; arcane : vigor, rez speed, evasive arcana. This is with mercy runes, and doom/energy sigils.

Very fun build, and I don’t 100-0 anyone, just keep my teamates alive, while trying to stay out of peoples focus fire. It feels like I’m playing a combat medic, that sometimes has to fight back to push enemies away. Fun playstyle. However, its almost the same a my old build, but with added stone heart and evasive arcana, which help me survive some of the burst with the changes.

I think we should let a couple weeks go by before strong nerfs to builds. Some seem op, but wait until other classes build counter-builds.

Its def a bit too early for rankings, but some general notes of whats strong in my opinion:

Bunker guardian, REALLY good support, condi clease, heals, rezzes, AoE quickness, stability, overall amazing at keeping people rezzed and a live and getting stomps

D/F fire/water/arcane ele. Great sustain and pointholding power. Incredible mightstacking, tons of burn and physical damage, while lots of defensive cooldowns and projectile hate, make it all around a great teamfight AND 1v1 build. Obsidian flesh helps rezzes/stomps, making it a good complement to a bunker guard.

Cele Staff Ele, with earth. Also really good, but competes with bunker guard for a spot and lacks damage compared to D/F, but has superior CC, still very great though.

Shatter Mesmer-Very nice right now. The same boonhate as before but with much better burst and CC and portal is even better than before. A good mesmer is a must on teams right now in my opinion. Better lockdown ability lets them deal with thieves much better than before.

D/P Thief CS/DA/Trickery- I feel its slightly worse than mesmer right now, but still really powerful with great burst, CC, and mobility. It’ll still probably be on most teams.

Signet Condition Necromancer- Right now this necro build is really good, mainly because it hardcounters every condition build in the game and it has tremendous boonhate. It will still be a bit of a niche pick that’s too positioning reliant to survive, but the burst condi application is totally there.

Random tanky warrior build- Shoutbow, Axebow, hambow whatever, I think its still good but my team doesn’t really have any warrior mains, so I haven’t experienced how effective it can be in the current meta. It might still be competitve with ele for spot.

Celestial Rifle Engineer- Honestly its a fair bit worse than it was before. Basically for celestial to be ideal on engi you need explosives, firearms, inventions, AND tools. And this is honestly quite impossible, meaning you either have to drop condition pressure from firearms, direct damage from explosives, sustain from inventions, or utility and endurance regen from tools. It still has a lot of cross-healing and CC in teamfights and good physical damage, but without the condition pressure being easy to spec for I feel that D/F ele outclasses it right now.

Meditation Guardian/Burn Guardian-both of these have great damage but poor sustain. Still very viable, but a bit outclassed and bunker guardian seems to be more useful right now. Good counter to mesmer/theif, that will probably be extremely common in the meta.

Condition Ranger- Good 1v1 build that struggles in teamfights. Spirits are gutted, traps aren’t much better, survivals are okay I guess. The settlers builds are good.

Power Ranger- Still only viable in temple/legacy. Very good damage, but not as much CC in teamfights as other classes and easier to lockdown and kill than most of the other classes on the list.

Condi Engi- Very good damage and condi burst but hardcountered by any tankier nonmesmer condi spec, but has less teamfight CC/cross heals compared to celestial engi, which suffers from poor damage right now.

Fresh Air Ele- High burst, but simply outclassed by mesmer and thief due to poor sustain, mobility, and disengage.

Zerker Warrior- Niche and a bit on the fun tier side, but still a better pick than the garbage pile I will now list.

Garbage Tier: Condi Mesmer, Phantasm Mesmer, MM necro, Bunker/sustain blood necro, zerker guardian, SD engi, Condition Ele, Condition Thief. Anything thats not running celestial, marauder, rabid/carrion, cleric (on guard only) or soldiers/sentinels. Anything else that is passable to good at 1v1s but useless in teamfights.

Everything else is trash tier by comparison. So more or less the same as most of the last 3 years

I don’t know. All I see here is D/P thief. I smoke D/P thieves all the time. As long as you’re rocking some Toughness and Vit. I think Condi thieves are WAY scarier lol. Sure you can mass cleanse them, but then they just run away >.>

So… here we go. If I don’t mention one of the classes here, congratz, you actually got it right, but for the most part this is so incredibly far from the truth it hurts.

Bunker guard- Still suffers from the problems it had since day one, only good in a match where both comps are 4/5 zerker. kitten tier against condi comps.

Signet Necromancer- Again, only good in cele comps against cele/condi comps. Literally unplayable against zerker / bunker comps.

Tanky warrior build – Gone is the way of shoutbow. Warrior without rampage? Don’t want it. Only viable in bunker comps with shouts / regen banner.

Celestial Rifle Engineer- Ahahaha no. Doesn’t have Elixer X.

Meditation Guardian/Burn Guardian- Meta is shifting towards classes with endure pains. Medi guard is terrible. Burn guard still suffers from same problems that it has had since launch.

Condition Ranger- You’re right, good 1v1, but it has had a good 1v1 since Wilderness Survival, suffers from the same problems and is still unplayable.

Power Ranger- See condi ranger.

Condi engi- ehhhh I guess its okay but doesn’t have elixer X so no thanks.

Fresh Air Ele- Seems stronger but still not viable in team games because you know ,same problems it has had since fresh air was invented.

MM necro- ………. I have no words. I see a nerf coming very soon. Blood Magic is beyond OP. One of the best 1v1s in the game, also easiest class to play since the launch of the game. 10/10 on this one ANet.
