I (rank 25ish) solo join and team- I get in 5v5 everything is fine. My team smokes the other team. I feel good about myself until the end match score card comes out and the entire other team is less than rank 10 and my hot join team is entirely rank 20+.
Now I realize that if you join a party you are more likely to pair up against another premade which is fair. But is there also some kind of code that if you solo que you will be in a team with others of your like lvl? Which also seems like a good idea until rank 30-40 teams are stomping rank 10 teams.
I enjoy spvp. I enjoy a good game and I don’t want to discourage players who are new from tpvp.
Oh and before anyone says anything, yes I know person can be good no matter what their rank is.
I can appreciate your perspective, but for someone in my situation I actually prefer to fight the higher ranks. You see I found SPvP boring for the most part. My experience was based entirely off of hot joins and some tournament runs with a bad group of folks. So I had written it off. Well, the laurel deal had me go back in. I played with some folks in my guild and it’s much more fun.
My point is, as someone with a lower rank it’s important to have my head repeatedly smashed against the wall. That’s the only way our team will get better. Just my view.

Rank =/= MMR, and thank god for that… i burned myself out of sPvP in Beta (getting to rank like 12 or something like that), so i didn’t sPvP very much at launch, so if it were by rank i’d just be going up against the horde of new players and just be reeeeeeeeeeeaally bored..
You could imagine the surprise on the enemy teams when my team of lv 10s and one 20 were stomping the lv 30s…
PS: You start out By default about mid way in the ladder, so if you lose a lot you’ll quickly be placed near the bottom with the worse players, if you win a lot you’ll rise up in the MMR.
