Trappppsss
This is very true. It is toxic for new players to join a match walk to a point and die.
Trap stays on, until you use the same trap or it ge trigger. I feel that it is the mechanic of traps since release.

[…] the trap will disappear after 5 min, or if its user moves too far away from it.
so stop ur baseless whine pls, some dev might take u serious …
The previous Meta only used the heal trap and Test of Faith. Judging from what ive been reading on the Guardian forum and some testing myself last night, the new Meta will likely still be using those 2 traps and actually maybe only the heal trap.
So in summary stop whining about losing to noob trap spammers.
“Buff my main class, nerf everything else. "

New players entering a pvp match on a clueless solo player team and getting put up against an organized premade team has the exact same effect, leave base look around boom die instantly, rez leave base boom die instantly again, repeat until match ends or until players give up. ( I know this because I’ve witnessed this firsthand many times) I’m pretty sure they don’t care about new players or solo players anyways, otherwise matchmaking wouldn’t be the way it is currently.
Correct! Which creates even more salty and toxic players.
But at least I admit it!
PoF guys get ready for PvE joys
new players should understand they’re new and there are things to learn, even a new player should recognize after stepping on point and getting eaten by a dh trap (if he is unable to pop cd’s or live period, that that is something he should look out for. you mistake new players for kittens. When you are new to a game, you accept you are learning and should likely put effort into the learning process or it will be a painful learning curve..
I tend to believe that every thief, power mesmer has the right to complain about Dragon’s Maw putting them into downstate when the person who laid the trap isn’t even there.
As someone who enjoys the trap playstyle but doesn’t play a guardian, I have to say that this would gut the funnest and most thematic aspects of playing a trapper build.
The entire point of a trap is to drop it somewhere and wait for someone to step on it. Trap builds lose a LOT in terms of dueling potential because any half decent player will see where you’ve dropped your traps and not approach. The element of surprise is how the trapper gets their kills, and the best way to surprise someone is to lay a trap and then leave.
I absolutely love to leave my traps on a point and see the damage numbers from across the map. But it comes at the cost of my traps being on cooldown when I next enter combat, and if I lay down new traps before the old ones are triggered the old ones go away. It’s a fair trade off.
Eh why not just ban traps…. they ban everything else people like
I’m still all for a premade build for everyone entering pvp, that way their intentions of us all playing exactly the way they want us to rather than us playing how we want will be more clear and less vague & sneaky.
