True Parallel Progression
I like the way these rewards are separated. It provides more options to obtain your items. Honestly the tracks are awesome. I have obtained 7 ascended boxes with 4 of them being the stats I want out of 4 completed tracks.
P.S: Expect pve hating comments below.

2 tracks, 0 ascended boxes. Making my way to the third…
6 tracks with 1 box lol
Sharks With Lazers [PEW]
Let me elaborate a little more about why I posted this. My character on this account was sub 80 so I sat on almost 3 and a half weeks of tournament wins and rewards track worth of chests until I got to 80 so I would get level 80 rewards. That was almost 3 full reward tracks doing nothing but group arena and winning at a over 50% rate. After I opened all those boxes I got zero ascended items and I was only able to turn all the stuff I got into things worth roughly 20 gold. I mean come on. Maybe I was unlucky but that was probably 40-50 hours of doing nothing but team arena and winning at a decent clip and my reward was 20 gold and a couple cruddy skins. You can fart in pve and make 20 gold. Thanks for playing! When is A-net going to get serious and start rewarding pvp in a meaningful way.

I play A LOT and I’ve only ever gotten two ascended weapon drops, no ascended armour drops and several ascended accessories drop. Ascended items are incredibly rare, if people were getting them from reward tracks at any reliable rate something would be very wrong. You are supposed to make/buy ascended items, not find them, the finding method is some bizarre commitment to RNG that ArenaNet has but it is in no way reliable or remotely common whether you PvP or PvE. The only place in the game where ascended “drops” are “common” is FotM and that’s exclusive to rings and it’s justified because rings are essential for progressing in that dungeon.
As far as the reward track general loot goes, yeah most of it is trash but then again so is most PvE loot. The dungeon tracks are actually very generous when it comes to weapons and I personally consider PvP one of the best places to farm dungeon weapons, especially if you value transmutation stones.
ascended items in my experience cost like ballpark 80-100 gold to craft and that does not include the cost of leveling up to 500 crafting.
they should be rare drops. even in WvW in 600 rank up chests I’ve only got 1 ascended armor piece drop and maybe 2 trinkets. That is lucky, and it’s a toss up whether the stats are going to be any good or not.
It’s really awesome that ascended are now account bound though.
what i do think is silly is the “final” rewards are not the best rewards in the track.
I’ve completed like 10 tracks.. and have recieved 0 ascended boxes, but I have gotten a couple of rings.
It looks like If I want ascended gear Im gonna have to craft it :/
I have a ton of the mats but It’s going to take like 150 gold just to make a couple of skins..
I’m not unhappy. but I’d like more tracks, as I’m done with all of the standard PVE ones and half of the dungeons.

Are you factoring in the straight-up cash rewards for each game? Beyond the reward tracks, you’re also getting 30 silver for each team arena win, and 15 silver for each team arena loss.
Lets say you’re getting one game in each 15 minutes, which might be a conservative estimate. Over 50 hours, that’s 200 games. Lets say you win half of those games, now. 100 wins in and of itself is 30 gold, while you’d get another 15 gold from your 100 losses. There’s 45 gold of straight-up cash being given to you before factoring in the items the reward tracks give.
Is it as good as spending 50 hours running dungeons? No, it’s not, not even close. But it’s a lot better than just saying you got 20 gold from 50 hours. And, presumably, you enjoyed yourself more playing these team arena matches, right?
You are exaggerating the amount of games that can be played in 45 hours in my experience at least. My personal experience is that in general its about 3.5 games per hour with team queue so that’s about 158 games. Say I won 54% of them that would be roughly 85 matches won and 73 lost. Doing some real quick math that is about 36 gold so that is 56 gold for 45 hours of play. So that’s still not even close to what you would get in pve for 45 hours. Plus with dungeons you get tokens and stuff for doing each run or if you run events Karma.
Whether I enjoyed it more then pve is irrelevant. I want a Dev to explain to me why 10 hours of pve cant roughly equal 10 hours of pvp in terms of rewards. Imo, we need to get past this sort of mindset with MMORPGs. Lets have every activity in game rewarded roughly the same and people not be punished for doing what they like. Imo, the first MMORPG dev to really grasp this concept will be rewarded richly but they all seem to want to keep fighting the idea although in public they will act like it is a good one.
