Have been playing since betas, used to play top100 soloQ, 6000 PvP games…

What happens? 500 AP (indicating a new player), ‘first time PvP’ players on my teams. They die to Svanir, they triple cap points, they don’t read the chat, they don’t look at the map. Absolutely horrid experience. SoloQ was okay at times, in the current system it would be more than fine.

But no… we have to get this…

Justin, I’m begging you – do something about it. I don’t care about ratings, esports and rewards. I just want to have fun after coming back from uni and the office…

And you might think that when you get higher rating the things will be fine …. not!
And the argument of having good matchmaking for having around 50% win/loss ratio is flawed. SInce you usualy get half time first time pvp players on your team and loose and half time they are on enemy team and you easy win. In both cases the game is anything else than fun. Since new lb i can say that total number of fun matches i had doesnt exceed 2 or 3.

if your rating manages to get above the average most matches become ok, you’ll start encountering a lot less truly incompetent players (everyone can have a bad day or play a spec he’s not too familiar with, but at least you don’t see people go and die to svanir)

i’m sure there’s a large influx of both new players and other returning due to HoT announcement and the short 75% sale on the game, it will hopefully settle itself in time.

while i can’t say it always work if you think you’re lower than you should be play some spec that can carry teamfights hard and still be mobile, run wherever your team is struggling and wipe the floor with the enemy. most of the times this will be enough to get your team ahead. don’t bother with “finesse” if you’re facing uneducated players (like playing a bunker guard: it’s useless if your team is too clueless to actually kill stuff while you support them)

I’d say it’s mostly biased.

As a former top 100 , you’re expecting yourself to win more than ordinary people.
So you feel that it is natural to have consecutive wins.
You feel “natural” when you get like 10 wins, and you won’t question about the matchmaking at all when it’s in your favor, but as soon as one game starts giving you noobs, you suddenly get agitated and believe the matchmaker is broken, even though that’s probably just one of five games that a real noob joins.

Why not think it this way, the other 4 games that you have your “regular wins” are against those noobs that had just been your enemies? Please do realize we’re put under the same crappy matchmaker, so everyone suffers the same thing, and the rest lies down to your own skills and the veterans of the other team.

I just hope people stop thinking they’re the exception, to think their wins all lies on their skills, not their foes’ incompetence.

Does anyone just ignore the entire post anytime that all is in vain thing comes at the end?

This is called confirmation bias.
It’s a bias which people only remember the thing that confirm their thoughts, focusing the attention on the losing matches rather than the winning matches, using such information to support his idea of match-maker being bad.

People may have the idea of “winning is natural for them”, so they wouldn’t put attention on their winning matches because to them, “that’s the way it should be”.
They would not question about the match-maker when they keep on winning.
However, when they lose, they’ll put all the attention on the bad match-making, and ignore all the winning statistic they have already received, thus, forming the idea of “match-maker is horrible” because they “only counts the losing match”.

Should counter him saying his system is faulty and needs a player rated system instead because his system isn’t good at determining who is good and who is bad.

Cuz you don’t wanna be on the same level as the guys that lose to Svanir. I mean you can beat Svanir 1v1 right?? Or you one of those team only comps, and don’t fight Svanir or anything alone?

Ha, funny troll. Your response is as far from being factually correct as it gets and about twice that at being worth reading. It literally makes no sense.

World would be a better place if people like you or the second guy put as much effort into writing cohesive posts using proper English as you put into starting fights on the forums without even having read the topic. Quite shameful.

Justin, ignore them and tell me how is it that I have games where I know all the players in the match (the good, balanced ones), the ones where I land on a team of complete noobs (like 2 guys who literally just bought the game), where I can usually kill someone with autos (unenjoyable matches regardless of the outcome, I think I landed at least two of those on Saturday night) and then those from the screenshots from yesterday…

Yes, he burnt him. Which by your logic means he’s at the level of top players (Denshee, Tage, etc) and those players lose to Svanir as well. Well, I’ll leave you to contemplate on it.

Ahh, good, it’s not just me… this latest reset of the leaderboard all my pugs have been terrible… Mind you I’ve only played 16 matches but lost 12 of them, whereas before reset I had a win rate of ~60% with around 50 matches… (yes, I’m casual player in PvP)

I am sick of carrying my team, I’m all over having to play fireman and “put out the fires” left by my team mates, but still it’s always like I’m playing 3v5 or 4v5. Luckily there’s no “PvP season” but I’ve had my share of narrow losses or horrible losses ever since the reset now and am starting to go a bit sick of being put together with horrible, new players.

I don’t mind newbies to PvP but at the very least have the decency to communicate in team chat about it and listen to strategy. When I put up a plan and 2 guys kitten, then the last 2 remain silent and go double cap close under no pressure, there’s no hope…

And by all means, Justin, please check my match log to see if my team mates have been peers rank-wise or new players… either way, they have not displayed any skill and rank-wise could very well have just been farming a hot join map so in the end rank really doesn’t mean crap…

First of all, Justin was talking about a couple of past games, which had happened significantly later than the one’s mentioned in the OP.

Secondly, I linked to screenshots from matches of full solo queue vs a full premade of top EU players.

So no, I don’t think anything like what you’ve said was established. Please if that’s all you have to say, refrain from posting in my thread; you’re derailing it.

I feel you bro. I had a good chuckle when I saw your screenshots vs the full premade including Tage, Denshee, and Rom.
