Turret Engi exploit
the game is kind of glitchy, so idk if they even ‘could’ fix it. regardless, you can still shoot them right?

you can shoot them yes, but aoe dmg is very difficult to land on them and melee is impossible
melee is usually possible even midair, but it requires very difficult positioning often times (usually comes down to going on whatever ledge the engi jumped from and standing right at the edge of it to hit from max melee range)
defeinitely shouldn’t be possible
Apparently it’s not just turrets!
While I was mid air, having just jumped from the top of some steps, skipping the steps to the bottom, a mesmer cast a phantasmal berserker on me (I dodged, idk if that had any influence). I didn’t see it appear and try to hit me. I looked behind myself and saw it had spawned in mid air above the steps, unable to move or do anything. I would have taken the time to go back and take a screenshot but I needed to rush to a point =P.

You can spawn iDuelists in mid air, too. I happened to do it quite a few time in pve. Unlike iBerserkers, iDuelists can still attack.

If it helps OP, there are times where Rocket Turret bugs and doesn’t fire at all. This is when putting points toward properly traiting for ground targeting. You’ll toss it against landscape as it should and just sits there useless. Most don’t even notice because we’ll detonate it fast to get it off CD.
Though I do bark at players doing the floating turret thing in a match.
I am seeing a LOT more engies do this now, and it is incredibly sad. Not only do they play one of the scummiest braindead-specs, but they also have to rely on an exploit that makes their turrets unkillable. So what is the advice against a turret engie with near-invulnerable turrets (few attacks can hit them, and the regen more than those that can)?

Kinda impossible for melee to kill them way up there!

It’s even better when you get parties of 3 or more turret engis, all happily exploiting because they know nothing will be done about it.
I really doubt that they will fix their collision engine for this, which would be massive work. Not much hope there.
make engis rooted during the cast time of turrets -> issue solved.
no need for engine/collision changes, could even make the cast time shorter to compensate. can’t place a turret in mid-air if you can’t run yourself off a cliff during the cast time.
