Can anyone tell me how my matches tonight went from fun close games, to complete shambles the next?

I played 7 games tonight, the first 3 where losses, but I didn’t mind as they where really close matches and where really fun. Now my next 2 my team won. They where really good fun matches. Not as close as the matches that where losses, but close all the same. Now the last 2…. They felt like I was playing in a completely different league compared to the last 5 games.

People where failing to do the basic things, like capping points! How can you have 2 people on your team fighting on home, win the fight, then run off to middle leaving it uncapped before they both turn around and run back and double cap it! And these guys where ruby! I’m T5 sapphire. If this system worked correctly they should not be anywhere near ruby with the “skill” I saw them display. And that wasn’t the only thing. Team fight in the middle, 3 run off to cap far. 3 of them and the 4th runs off to attack a treb that’s not being used, leaving me to die in middle, and enemy to cap home! Not to mention any target I called was ignored. They where all too busy trying to have there own 1vs1 while the other team just focused us down one at a time.

The next match was pretty much the same, 2 eles sitting on close for the whole.match, while after the first wipe in the middle, the other 3 just ran into the 4 waiting in the middle one at a time to get slaughtered. I did my best by going in with 1 of the other 2 to keep them up with the hope an ele or the other guy would make it a 3/4 vs 4/5 in middle as far was a no go as the had a mesmer who would just portal the team to far if you try to take it.

No my questions are this. How did people lacking this much knowledge not only make it this far, but made it into ruby? Secondly, how can my matches go from really close fun matches, to complete blowouts, how can this even happen?

well, i think
- they play alot, really, a lot.
- they got lucky, sometimes they got carried by random better players.

Secondly, how can my matches go from really close fun matches, to complete blowouts, how can this even happen?

the players who know how to play are taking a break, so match making search for other players instead.

i only have time to play 2 or 3 ranked games per day.
(during the 1 – 1.5 hour when my 13+ months daughter is having her day time nap, night time, i am simply too tired to play)

you play seven !!!

I don’t follow your last line. I agree, there is only so much, but it seems like it always happens to me. Just as I get to needing one more match to get into ruby, bam. Back to zero pips. I’m not saying everytime was other peoples fault. I know when I’ve messed up. When I’ve pealed at the wrong time, or taken the wrong path and got eaten by the other team. But I always seem to have 5 really good matches, really close ones, then 3-4 terrible ones, where I’m paired with people who just seem to not know what they are doing, or just rage/afk for the whole match.
