TLDR: Pls anet, make this happen.

Today our guild had a 3v3 deathmatch tournament and it was a blast! Everyone, win or lose, had a tone of fun!

Here was a format:

3v3 on Forest Of Niflhel, fighting on the beach only.
First team to 10 kills wins, 10min games
Respawn time of 5 seconds

Here’s why it was awesome:

There was tonnes of coordination and teamwork, calling out combo fields and res/stomps and calling spikes. Party support was incredibly important as was protecting your allies (linebacking).
Having 3 people on a side means that if someone goes down and the 2 remaining players react instantly, the downed player can be resed before the stomp lands. However if they delay for even a second the stomp gets through, making for some epic plays and timely skill use. This would not be the case in a 2v2.
We saw every meta build and all classes and every party comp had it’s strengths but also weaknesses that could be recognized and exploited by the opposing team.
The short respawn time meant that nobody was out of the fray for two long and the team that just pushed a kill had to make quick decisions to push for another kill or regroup and stabilize.

It was not nearly the cluster kitten a lot of people would expect, perhaps partly due to it being 3v3 and not 4v4 or more. We had games where we didnt even get 10 kills and instead were decided at the 10min mark by 1 or 2 kills. And keep in mind we are all experienced and skilled players rank 30 or higher.

so many people are calling for this it would be awsome the community is already making this happen without a dedicated mode! shows the community wants this especially are post just below this one !

the community isn’t big enough to afford to be split even more, due to the horrible meta and split between solo & teamQ, TeamQ is pretty much dead(at least at high level) and soloQ suffers from 5-10 mins q times, and whenever there is a decent Qpop, its usually the same 10 players facing each other over and over..

we need more people before thinking of more ways to split the community

Have to say that a 3v3 team deathmatch would get my kitten back to gw2. Allso would bring back a large number of people who buyed the game just to try.

We have already a Deatmatch Arena Thread… If we all wrote in that A-Net will se how many People Support this^^

really. a whole gamemode for something people can organize within the game..

Rather have more/other gamemodes then just TDM.. if i want to do that i just camp the opponents exit with a buddy.

rather see gvg/fa/jq before TDM. then again.. thiking about it. it shouldn’t be difficult to create.
