Unfair leaderboard soloQ DuoQ

They are bringing back 5 man Queue and it will be its own separate Queue like it should be, it’s called Automated Tournaments.
So again if you wanted to place well on the leaderboards you would use every viable means, and anyone can duo Queue /GG

It’s pretty simply really. You don’t even have to ask. Most of the people who are satisfied with farming solo’s will like it. Those who are being farmed will hate it and have for since forever.
Nothing has really changed since Solo/Duo only was implemented. Matches are just as unfair as they was before solo/duo. The only difference is more people have stopped playing. Because of reasons I don’t even need to go into.
So if or not ANet reverse their change to the queuing system. As long as GW2 has one of the worst match making systems in a Ranked PvP league on the market. Nothing will ever change. Until ANet decides to start investing some real money and effort, into sPvP. It will always be as it is now. And start recoding for a match maker that can handle solo players and pre mades in the same queue.
However since GW2 got dropped from ESL. I wouldn’t ever expect GW2’s PvP to ever improve for the solo player. The system just allow too many holes for people to farm solo players.
Basically with it going to come down to, for you in GW2. If you want to advance in this game. You are going to have to do what all the other “top tiered players” are doing.
Always in pre-mades.
Queuing in the dead of NA eary mornings.
Playing the heavy carry comp set-ups.
And don’t forget to throw in a bit of win trading in there. When you start to get to that leaderboard.
If you are not willing to do the things that the “top tiered players” are doing. Then unless you have total package of skills that are much much higher then their’s. Then you either need to forget about trying to compete in this game. Or you will have to go elsewhere to satisfy your competitive PvP urges. There is a reason why so very few players queue for GW2 ranked. And most of the ones that do, appears to be playing a MMO for their first time.
TL/DR : Without ANet investing time and money into PvP. sPvP in GW2 will always be unfair. You have to look at the “META tactics” not just builds. The other “high tiered players.” Are using and follow suit. No matter how slimy they look or sound. Remember you are not competing for a official eSport.

Folks, the system is rigged and exploitable. Deep down, I think you all know it. Just admit it. Some in these forums, these so-called “pros” who think they’re good won’t dare to admit it.
You live and die by placement matches. Period. Your skill rating just stabilizes overtime as it did mine. The amount of rating I gained and lost when I started was in the late 20s-30s, now it’s in the teens. HOW THE F—- do you even expect people to advance? Unless you duo, bribe, cheat or got good placement there’s not a snowball’s chance you’re getting up the tiers. No matter how good you are.
I gave it a shot for a few days just to see how ranked was but…nothing has changed. As usual.
Yup, going back to unranked.

I’m currently #21 on the leaderboards and I’ve only been using one Mesmer build (not the meta) and solo Q to carry my teams/advance/pray I get a good duo on my team.

If you are good not being in a duo is not going to stop you from having a high rating. It might stop you from being top 20-50 but come on that’s not a reasonable goal for most of you complainers. The main problem is not duo its match manipulation and synch queing to get three + in matches. Most of the time when you are facing a duo you will have a duo on your own side and sometimes you will get a duo and the other side has none believe it or not these things tend to even out over time.

They should make league seasons solo q so i don’t have to see these threads anymore
