In the meantime, dude uses so much stealth he can heal twice before getting attacked, (no counterplay), to reingage with a 4k crit, double proc with immob (still no counterplay).

Fact that Thief is kittened shouldn’t be ever used as argument allowing Mesmers to be even more kittened ;-)
Also, I find that thief being laughably weak in WvW compare to Mesmer now. I have absolutely no trouble killing thief anymore. Just live through the first burst with protection + weakness and use a quickness to instantly burst him down. They lose alot of dodging potential, and they switch from S/D to D/P once more, so killing them is very easy.
Mesmer, on the other hand, is another dimension to deal with. Longer stealth duration, permanent reflection, lots of invulnerable/evade and stun breaker, lots of interrupt, lots of conditions, way harder to countered burst. 10 times HARDER to deal with than thieves now that’s for sure.

Dodge grants reflect with no ICD. Manipulation grants reflect with no ICD.
They don’t need to sacrifice weapon choice or even utilities to do these things anymore. (Manipulation is one of the most popular choices for Mesmers anyway)
And then they have that permanent stealth to cover the endurance and CD issue.

Well permanent reflect still works perfectly in PVP.
PU is still perfectly usable in PVP too.
I mentioned WvW only because it is a more extreme example with stealth having no consequences or drawbacks whatsoever.
First, stealth for a long period burns up all your utility spots. Second the “twice” mantra heal doesn’t do much healing. Third, there’s no such thing as permanent reflect. In fact one of the major Mesmer reflects, [Temporal Curtain] will often fail on LOS if an opponent is even slightly on higher ground.
Max Stealth = minimum damage. Permanent reflect doesn’t exist.. that’s in your mind
It seems Mesmer has you freaked out, which after all is what we do. This is a learn to play issue.

Successful evasion grants 1.5 sec of reflection. It also requires you to take evasive mirror which means you can’t have blind on shatter.
Master of manipulation grants 2 sec of reflection on blink (24 sec cooldown) and mass invis (72 sec cooldown).

The whole premise for this is kinda ironic. Thief has issues fighting a class they used to dominate because now when they reset the fight with stealth, the mesmer can too.
But @Aomine, most mesmers I’ve seen don’t take Evasive Mirror as Blind on Shatter is useful in more cases. As for mirror on manipulation, this affects blink and badly affects mass invis. Since the mirror applies after the casting completes, all you really need to do is start a channeled projectile attack or even just a projectile from far away and it’ll hit them in stealth, reflect back to you and give them reveal, effectively wasting an elite on a 72 second cd for them.
