Cool. Thanks for listening. It was an odd choice and strange that it was discussed and originally determined that 3 was a good idea, but nonetheless, you guys did a great job quickly changing this. Btw, I hope this stays like this.
I would love to have 1 team v 1 team forever with 1 paid token. Have you seen how fast these are popping? It was amazing. Could be the best change this game has made so far. After this week, just randomize the map from 1 of the 4 choices and boom, paids be a poppin’.
I think the tournament style should be relegated to weekly or monthly tournaments to have the highest QP teams face off for a grander prize or something. It’s just such a big barrier to have to start every single game that way.

Can’t we please make one ticket entry to paid tournaments something permanent? This would really help paid tournament ques pop more and in turn allow match making. Because honestly, three tickets is still way too much for the amount of QPs that we get per win.

If the feb/march update will succeed as this one did, then this game has a good chance (in terms of pvp) to get really big.

Reducing the barrier to entry means that the casual pvpers that do their daily achievements will be able to do one paid one round tournament per day and increase the playerbase in HOTM without forcing sPvPers to do a three round free (more likely one round at best). In addition, I think this will cause more people to try out free tournaments as they would only have to win one free in order to get into a one round paid tourney.

Yup. It is kind of the law of unintended consequences (or maybe they knew what would happen). Here is a summary of the new system and its knock on effects:
- Means most premades are now prepared to do paid tournies as it pops instantly and CRUCIALLY ONLY COSTS 1 TICKET AND EVEN IF YOU LOSE YOU GET SOMETHING.
- As a result the free tournies are mostly composed of solo/duo queuers. Thus, by making paids actually doable (because they cost less) they have made free tournies less of a rofl stomp.
- As a result free tournaments are less demoralising (losing 500-0 every tournament at some point really makes people quit) so more and more people will play them.
- As more people get into free tournments they will be interested to play in paid tournies as they only cost 1 ticket and this seems like something they are prepared to spend (instead of 5 or 3 tickets which is just an insane amount of gold to spend just to get crushed). Thus, paids will pop more often.
The key features of this new system is:
1, the cheap cost of the paids. 1 ticket is fine. It still takes a while for your average player to grind for but overall they wont mind as you still get a chest (ok not a good chest but something) for losing.
2, The 2 team queue. No queues = more people queue. Also 2 team queue will make a matchmaking system viable which would further enhance the current system to the point where we could now start getting serious about pvp.
Sure a solo queue would be the best thing this game could get. But at least the current system makes free tournies more bareable to do solo. Really this change has fixed so many huge issues with the tpvp that I really hope we can swiftly revert to it after the week.
Please keep cheap entry for tournies and 2 team queues. You need both of these or it will suck. And matchmaking will obviously make the whole thing better.

Im just wondering.. many times i said here and also other players that adjusting of entry fee would make a magic trick even in old 8 teams format.
As we see – adjusting the entry fee is like few minutes of work.. so the question here is obvious
WHY did you let us in old system with 5 tickets without any change and let us not play paids due to their high price?? It was 2 months at least you had all the data of how offten they pop, homany different teams plays etc.. why it wasnt possible ? and instead you keept premades fight in free tournaments stomping pugs??
