!!Urgent!! Please fix these to balance GW2!!!
About the perma stealth. The condition stip is actually every 3 seconds. Even more op than you thought.
Yes sorry for that typo I really put this up in hast because it has things that need to be fixed and haven’t since December
Agree Zelulose
“Perma” stealth is only achievable if you spec that way…making your damage laughable.
Also, sitting in stealth does nothing for you. However, while you sit in stealth, you can get bombarded by AoEs and attacks.
Currently, thieves are one of the worst classes in this game pvp-wise. As for the issues with elementalist, mesmer, and ranger…I can’t disagree with those.
It is not about thief damage as much as it is their ability to stay right next to their opponent and not die for like 1 minute. Aoe does not do enough damage to kill a thief only to scare it a little so it runs. If you don’t believe me use aoe skills only on a thief and you’ll find you don’t have enough aoe skills to spam aoe for the kill. (Aoe is a poor excuse)

In tournies…
No.
You should fight Cruuk if you think otherwise.

That’s not really true, with D/P and 15 points into shadow arts, with Meld with Shadows and Infusion of Shadow will allow you to perma stealth, and then you can spec into any build you want.
do people even know what perma means? D/p has revealed just like anyone else. And if they aren’t attacking from stealth they aren’t doing damage. You can also interrupt their heart seeker and make them waste pretty much all their initiative in one fell swoop. All but guaranteeing a win for you.

I run glass D/P thief and I feel ridiculously op right now mainly due to healing and condition removal / 3 sec in stealth.
With the stack might in stealth trait I also do more than respectable dmg with my backstab and bursts and return to safety between each burst. I never die in any hotjoin or tpvp, and I get my kills.
Btw obviously ^ you are trying to misinform. I simply wait until my stealth is almost over, after stacking stealth 3 timse with hs+5 skill. Heals, removes 2-3 conditions, and a very powerful opener – continue autoing/THEN lastly you finish with hs. It’s the BS from stealth that hurts the most, HS for finishing when you have a good number of initiatives. Even then you have utilities to get you out of trouble/ stomp safely, or chase an enemy down to the ends of the earth (shadowstep, skill 3 <-esp this, mug)
D/P thieves make very good roamers in tpvp and glass wipers.

D/P is a noob killer. If your unexperienced against them, they will eat you alive. In team fights they will get focused and either die instantly, or be forced to shadowstep away. If they reenter they have no Stun Break and will die in that 4 sec time frame. In 1v1, They are a huge pain in the butt, but one interrupt is really all it takes to win the fight. They are by farm the most annoying build in the game, but they are nowhere near OP, they are nowhere even near strong.
sigh. skill 5 ->2 -> steal -> BS with basilisk venom +auto->daze does almost as much dmg as a d/d instagib thief opener WHILE closing distance AND disables your opponent, THEN you can instantly return to stealth again with 5->2 which allows for another set of blind->hs->bs
It’s basically the d/d instagib spec with tons more survivability and with slightly less dmg and with a reliable supply of bs
The ones that you see doing no dmg are putting useless points in acrobatics, which d/p really doesn’t need.
It isn’t just a noob killer. It can very easily handle any glass spec and all but the tankiest builds solo, while being a good, survivable finishing class / team res player. With blinding powder you can also easily solo guild lords and team monsters. What more can you ask from a build?

Dude, watch the ground. pay attention to your surroundings
it’s quite often i’ll come to a camp and i’ll see a red ring appear, then it will appear a little further… this is a thief trying to use perma stealth.. if you see the ring come up AOE the hell out of it. the thief can only keep up perm stealth if he is HS through it.. aoe the ring and he wont go in.. or stand in it take the damage form the HS and the thief comes out of stealth.
you do realize whatever aoe damage you can do to a shadow bunkered GLASS d/p thief is negated by the healing in a couple of seconds when stealthed right. and also not every class has a healthy supply of aoes
[HL] Deadly Protection @ Sanctum of Culling
Altough I agree with the Mes/Ranger thing, the ele build is entirely not viable and the thief perma stealth, nobody does that in pvp.
Elementalist
All their attacks are telegraphed which means its possible to dodge the initial burst.
The only thing that is OP is their healing and ability to run away
Mesmer
These skills are only good for 1vs1 dueling. In a team fight, a HGH engineer will do better than a mesmer. It is possible to dodge shatters forcing the mesmer skill to be all on cd.
Thevies
Well they are dying to some class because stealth cannot hold points. The offer very little utility.
Ranger
Wait…you are mad about their elite that can res down players…. An engineer can do the same thing with elixir R
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Toss_Elixir_R
Besides, ranger do not have build diversity

First of all a good player will interrupt your first stealth HS/steal combo making u waste well over half your initiative. Secondly, you still get the revealed debuff after that combo (if it landed) giving any competent player 4 seconds to MAKE you waste shadowstep. Once u don’t have shadowstep your just gonna die next time you "reveal"yourself. Theres a reason no one plays thief in high lvs of play. They are to easily countered. Too squishy, and don’t offer any team support.
every time they nerf a class based on noob tears 50 crying noobs are born and swarm the forums.

True,
His suggestions will actually destroy class viability in tpvp.
A memser have to beat their oppent under 30 sec because poertal can only last 1 min and they are slow walkers
Thieves offer almost no support
Elementalist base damage is actually low. Most of them play glass cannon to get good damage however, their mobility makes it alot easier.
Ranger elite is not a bug. It is an elite skill which means that there is a long cd like any other elite
and all of these professions (i guess not ranger) have had big nerfs in the last patches and have big nerfs inc based on the sotg. so nice whining.
The only viable builds in 1 vs 1 are d/d toughness ele, overstealthing condi thief, dps phantasm/shatter mesmer, and the bm range. In a team fight these builds also dominate. Only tanky eles are viable for 5 vs5+. For team fights condi theifs stay on a point without caltrops taking them out of stealth. Shatter for mesmer is still aoe with less range and berserkers are very aoe even if the berserkers die fast they can be resummoned every 10 secs or less. A Bm ranger can easily be a trapper ranger. Basically these classes have dominant builds 90% or more of all other spvp builds. Rather than defend these builds try to defeat them with something else because the update did almost nothing to fix these.
So what you are saying is that we should balance the game based on how well a class does against a test dummy, nice to know ^^
if we follow this logic, we should also nerf 100b because it does tons of damage, and we should nerf necro’s wells it damage all the team and rip boons from them and cure condies from allies, and also nerf grenades for engi.
srsly guys stop whining on forums and let arena net do their job on basing balance around the gathered data they have from people actually playing the game.

Nothing OP about them. Any class can learn to counter these things. Enough is enough. There is a point where a class is just too good and a point when it is just not being handled effectively. I just don’t think any class is OP anymore. People are overdoing it.
That ele burst you showed, was that in zerk gear? I don’t think that would survive very well against a balanced 1v1 class.
Nothing OP about the mesmer shatters either. They are just strong as they should be. Learn to dodge when u see illusionary leap.
bla bla bla..
The ranger self resurrect is interesting but I personally haven’t seen it as much as I should have.. Just kill the spirit before downing the ranger.

Meld with Shadows doesn’t work with combo field stealths. You will only get 3 seconds of stealth if you heartseeker through a smoke field, whether you have the trait or not.
It’s ok. Message me when i’m online and ill see if you can kill me without one of the builds I just mentioned when i’m using one. Then I would close thread and never complain.
Also, sitting in stealth does nothing for you.
Nohing except healing and condi removal. Devs can give that “nothing” to warrior
However, while you sit in stealth, you can get bombarded by AoEs and attacks.
You can see aoe on ground, but they cant see you.
Currently, thieves are one of the worst classes in this game pvp-wise.
There is also a profession called “warrior” but you cant see them in competitive games.

Every MMO has problems with balance.
Balance is not the problem of a good MMO short of in extreme situations
(GW2 is by no means there).
The only issue with this game is kittenty kitten casual/pug based play threw bad map setup, bad matchmaking, (more often than not) mediocre weapon/utility/trait/companion design, and an in general a very very unpolished game.
Custom arena’s were supposed to be the answer to that… but like every fix Anet does… it didn’t really fix anything…

—>This build is op because of its damage. This sort of damage is why elementalists can be super tanks and still deal oK AoE or target damage while super healing. in this case the damage is plain old to high.
Oh, THAT build again. It’s kinda funny, I’ve tried it myself. Too bad anyone who can move will dodge the combo :P
The ele is using 3 arcane utilities, berserker and has 0 points in water. This is NOT the tPvP build that everyone is using. And there’s a reason they’re not using it.(Hint: 13k HP+light armor+no escapes other than RTL).
Not even that good in PvE either. The cooldowns make the burst kinda useless compared to the lightning hammer 1 spam.
And about elementalist AoE being high: that’s pretty much the only damage the elementalist has(except for a few abilities which are kinda useless). There’s nothing that can be done without completely destroying what’s left of the elementalist’s DPS builds and making their single target damage laughable.
Gunnar’s Hold
I would have posted the perma protection ele but In any case I’m posting universally not just to nerd a build I hate I play these. I just want to be fair. A tanky ele shouldn’t be able to kill unless he stops tanking and same goes for bm ranger and all classes. Tanks dps is just to high. I honestly think that a fix to these builds will balance pvp. By posting such a wide range of builds I was bound to get people, unlike me, who want to defend the op builds so they can take advantages of new players that are unfamiliar with these builds. I also am not crying for a nerf necessarily. Just a way to counter these kinds of builds.
