Speaking of course about the 200/500/1000 glory chests you can get from the glory vendors.

For rank 1-9 I did buy them (1000g ones at first, but then I realized it’s not efficient as the contents aren’t 2x or more better than the 500), but a couple guildmates told me it’s not all that efficient.

What do you guys think? Is it better to just hope for plenty of gear from tournaments and use glory on crafting tokens? Right now I don’t feel as though I get enough gear from PVP solely through rankups and tourneys. That said I don’t do tourneys all that often and when I do I rarely win (always against a full guild group).

So do you guys buy the chests?

Not all that concerned with gear, TBH. I’m waiting on reaching the appropriate rank for a couple of different sets, but that’s about it. So no, I don’t bother with the chests. I did for ranks 1-4, but quickly realized what a horrible crapshoot it is, and figured out that the sets are tiered, so I stopped.

I’ve already gotten all the appearance gear I want; since there’s only one good female leather set and it’s easy to obtain.

Only buy the gold ones because they give you the best salvage materials from the gear.

Are you sure salvage mats are determined in any way why by what chest they came out of? I thought it was random.

You can also buy crafting tokens for gear pieces from the same vendor that sells chests, different tab.

I found the best way was to salvage from the cheapest 200 glory chests. At least, that’s how I got what I wanted for the lowest amount of glory.
