If you wanted to show your appreciation towards veteran players you wouldn’t have to use a character slot as blackmail in order to get money from your existing player base, and frankly it’s still a shady move in my opinion.

Personally don’t fall for this, esp players who play other aspects other than pvp, if you play all aspects of the game, these are the types of players that could potentially be screwed the most when it comes to being completely uninformed before purchase equating to angry customers.

Just add the option for 20$ to unlock the new class and talents in pvp. Most pvp players see no reason to spend money on 95% of an expansion they wont really play (pvp gets nothing out of this patch, and no stronghold doesn’t count)

Entire thread is @lol_wut, you should be able to afford additional character slot as ‘veteran’ every few days of playing (you can buy it for ‘gold’).

well..i only play pvp but i’m gonna wait anyway, i don’t care about char slot and before getting hot i really want to see how is gonna be…playing since start (Well…more likely since gw1 first day…10 years ago) all i saw in gw2 pvp till now was a bunch of worthless promises and a stupid casual (pve) friendly mentality that totally ruined the competitive side of this game, if they’re planning to keep up with this bs they can keep their expansion too…i don’t care about 50 euros, but i’m really done looking at a company trying to fool ppl with promises while at the end of the day they don’t really give a kitten to competitive pvp

If you only play pvp then you’re getting everything for free even without spending 50$ for the expansion. It’s a pointless topic (and badly delivered), strongholds and specs are also for base game only.
And by the way the expansion is only 45 euros, not 50.

Nobody forces you to do anything. Why are you forced? The pre-purchase is there until HoT comes out. And They already said that info about challenging content will be revealed when they’re ready to do it and before HoT.
So again, who is forcing you to pre-purchase?

You’re not sure? Don’t buy it yet.
They revealed something you don’t like? Don’t buy it at all.
They revealed something great 1 day before HoT is out, or you want beta access? Then buy it, but because you want something, not because they’re forcing you.

Guys comon, they tried their best on providing some benefits for players that play longer.
Maybe this expansion doesn’t contain as many maps as the original game, but imagine the content they have provided over the years, while most of us only spended a few 10s on the game. They need money to keep developing this game. You can’t expect them to keep making new content while we don’t have to pay for something. They also have costs at their side.
