Guild Wars 2

Alright, so I was in sPvP the other day and ran across someone with the title “Veteran of the Arena” so I searched google. There was nothing on title at all. I asked them about it. All they said was qps? So, google was searched again about the qps(Qualifying Points). Still came up with nothing about this title. Would anyone mind shedding some light on this? I’m completely lost.

Its A high ranked Spvp title , maybe something to do with the Qp that have been removed

If it was removed wouldn’t there be some kind of info about it? Just wondering. I’d like to get to the bottom of this. I want that title lol.

So there are a few things to note. This person you’re looking at is probably top rank or pretty close. He is in the rank bracket that would award him the armor he is wearing

Currently on the achivement panel it list a title you can get that is the same as a hotm title. So maybe they changed it and since there have been so few players able to reach top rank, they haven’t bothered changing the typo or dont know about it.

Another possibility is that you’re looking at a GM or developer.

This character is rank 26 in the leaderboards.

Ill try PMing him tomorrow if I see him on, I’m very interested about this also. Could also be a hidden title that hasn’t’ been found by many.

From what I found out by talking to people, these were awards given out to players with qualifying points.

Qualifying points (qps) used to be a reward for winning paids tournaments. When the real leaderboards came out they removed the qp leaderboards. The top ranked players on the qp leaderboards were recently given a title. Hman was top 10 if I remember correctly.

Different titles were given out as rewards for the top 100 in the Qualifying Leaderboards at the last patch:
Legend of the Arena
Veteran of the Arena
Soldier of the Arena
Challenger of the Arena
You can’t get these titles now as QPs have been removed.

It was the old ladder system we had before we got a real MMR based leaderboard. You got 1 point for winning the 1st round of a paid tournament, 2 for winning 2nd, and 3 for winning the final match.

It was more biased towards # of games played rather than skill, you could just ring for a different team that was playing every night (most teams would play every other night or less) and just rack up the points. So you can imagine some peoples frustration when they were informed that all of the time they had spent racking up these QPs was just wasted, these titles are “compensation” for their efforts.

Hman was on a team that dominated the NA QP ladder (Team Cute) for a few months, many believe him to be one of the strongest warrior players in the game, or at least on NA.
