Vitality vs Toughness
As far as I am aware its your armor rating which is important, not toughness (although that increases your armor rating in turn).
Also I know condition damage ignores armor, so more HP = better vs condition and more Toughness = worst vs condition. Don’t know the formula with armor and physical damage though.
engi with 1.7k toughness?
hmm something is wrong.
seems a little low. even with glass cannon thief i have 1.9k
or maybe i confused toughness with armor….probably.
sorry
I want to put something to you. 10% damage reduction on 100 health is better than 20% damage reduction on 50 health. What I’m saying is, if you have a very low amount of health, having high armor is pointless.
Armor right now is not a good stat because you gain it at the exact same rate as Vitality.
My necro has 19k hp. I can use a high armor amulet and get about 30% damage reduction. Which means a pure physical damage class will have to do about 24,700 damage to kill me.
The other option is to use a high vitality trinket, which puts my hp at ~25,000.
But armor doesn’t provide a buffer to condition damage. Therefore you have two options, both giving you the exact same effective health, with one option not providing any benefit against conditions.
One thing to note about high armour is that, compared to high health, the effectiveness of healing on you is increased.
