WTB more engi changes

As we’ve said countless times elsewhere, it’s not just the damage on rifle that needs a buff. It’s a weapon with no defense, but requires getting in close range to do damage. The self-cc on Overcharged Shot is a massive liability especially with all the blocks/reflects/stab/evades that came with HoT. Jump Shot doesn’t evade. You know if it’d been designed for HoT, the mid-leap travel would be an evade.

Pistol changes has already been done. Poison volley and glue shot got a boost if I dont remember incorrectly. In terms of a one on one, p/p can easily match hammer. Rifle will never do it no matter how much they buff or nerf it because the skills suck.
I am just about at my end with screaming from the rooftops. We, the engineer community, made our voices heard multiple times with good ideas on our profession forums. There was one member who even compiled all of our posts and brought them to reddit. We really need a response; need to know someone is listening to us.

Exactly the changes they stated beforehand, even though the jump shot one was a nerf and not a buff as stated… I wish I could say I was surprised, but this is the same kitten they pull every time.

Idk about that, Rev’s Mallyx skill Unyielding Anguish is also a movement skill (an expensive one too), yet doesn’t have evade on it. And Rev is HoT, that didn’t come from pre-HoT. So I think this might be an overstatement.
Give up, Engineers were shafted during the trait overhaul when we had TBD during the presentation.
Shafted again with HoT release when Scrapper was one of the final specs to be pushed to the beta and got a single weekend where we learned about our new AI pets after the total failure of turrets.
THEN they decided to do nothing but nerf Scrapper for the better part of a year while providing only the smallest buff to other Engi abilities. Just give up guys, they really and truly do not care about Engineers. We have 3 wep choices and rifle is so bad that its not used in a single game mode.

Yeah.. perhaps not every HoT movement skill, but many of them.

I think Vault is a good comparison. It’s a movement skill that has a telegraphed animation and puts the user in melee range, so the target can easily counterattack. Vault protects the thief mid-air, Jump Shot doesn’t.

Only 2 out of the countless things engi needed changes on were changed, does not seem evenly distributed/looked at by the Devs.

At least you didn’t get full nerfs like some professions got.
In general I think everyone can agree that Anet could stand to balance a lot more skills/traits with each balance patch considering how infrequently we receive them.
