I would like to see Wall AoE such as Flame Wall, Napalm(Engi flamethrower skill), Smokescreen, and others to give all projectiles a 100% finisher move.

Their AoE is small which makes them subpar to other AoE. However, with 100% projectile finisher, they can be strong for synergy and encourage the Field + finisher combo even more which can make for exciting plays.

For example, a thief could finally be useful in a zerg by setting up smokescreen and then shooting with shortbow autoattack onto the zerg. The blind spam will help protect the zerg in a unique way.

A Engineer doesn’t have any rapid projectile attack, so he could set up a Napalm and let a Ranger use rapidfire to stack up burns. You may cry OP, but this is a teamwork effort. Teamwork should be OP. Also, If a ranger is using longbow and an engineer is using flamethrower, the chances are that both of them are zerk/marauder and the condi damage won’t be potent.

So essentially you want Engineer walls from flamethrower to be fire fields? I don’t know enough about engi to comment directly on that.

A tangential comment though; Rangers all ready have too kitten much. I suspect the team up would be thoroughly disgusting and make them even more easy mode than they are. So, on that basis, I’d oppose this idea.

HMM, your basically suggesting they make walls 100% projectile finishers and everything else less. Maybe it would be cool if the finisher effect where based on the field structure (wall, circle, rectangle), and the field type. Everything could be more effective on the walls cause they are harder to trigger.

Engineer Flame wall is already a fire field. What I am suggestion is that flame wall gives 100% projectile finisher instead of 20%.

How would this make them more easy mode? Rangers don’t have access to wall AoE. It requires another player.

Rangers are already too powerful. The combination would be a game breaker. Engineer seems to be in a good place atm, why not leave it there?

Which is funny because people rate Rangers and Engineers at low tier.

Also, Rangers don’t have access to wall AoE, I don’t see why you disagree with this suggestion. It encourages teamwork.

I disagree with it because of experience in pvp. Team ups are already pretty common.
It’s not at all unusual to see two rangers running together. ( with very long term CC from their two entangles and two wolves and two hounds ) Now combine that with your suggestion and you have an insta nuke.

Teamups are already very much a thing. I don’t think that’s a legitimate cause to buff Engineer.

Teamups are already very much a thing. I don’t think that’s a legitimate cause to buff Engineer.

Combine that with my suggestion… It would require a s/f ele or a Engineer using a flamethrower. Neither of them are meta.

Why are you guys taking the guys who is blatantly claiming rangers are overpowered in PvP seriously?
On another note, adding single finisher effects to fields without finishers might be overly confusing, and the same could be said for certain fields modifying skills in a way outside the skill description by raising effectiveness (wait why is this fire field only sort of a fire field? And why is my 20 finisher proccing constantly?).

Projectile finishers are based on the PROJECTILE, not the field. Some projectiles have a 100% chance to be a finisher while others (spammable ones) have a 20%. It would be totally OP if spammable projectiles had a 100% projectile finisher. Imagine if auto attacks (which are mostly 20% chance of projectile finisher) had a 100% chance to apply burning if shot through a fire wall.. Totally OP. This would increase the damage of most projectile auto attacks by more than 100%. There’s already way too much burning without projectile finisher spam.

Actually ele earth staff auto has a 100% projectile finisher, though luckily it’s useless so it doesn’t matter much. Hurl on scepter has a 5x projectile finisher (as in, five projectiles with 100% each), but that is sort of hard to pull off solo (you would have to drop the field, swap, and then immediately double cast #2, or precast the first part a full rotation in advance).
Projectile finishers just really don’t do enough to justify the effort, while blast and leap finishers are pretty cool.
I don’t think that the idea here would be OP or meta shifting so much as confusing to anyone trying to figure out finishers.
