+Condition removal (albeit a very inconvenient trait line and unusual utility skill), yay!
+Quality of life improvements with many weapons and utilities, yay!

- Axe #1 nerf…what.
- No pressure relieving options.
- Weak heal. Defensive options are still very weak in general.

So, we know that warriors suffer from the lack of options to respond against focus fire. Every class has options but warriors (thieves and mesmers can stealth/teleport, ranger a billion evades and passive full condition wipes plus regeneration galore, guardians a billion blocks, necro’s new and improved death shroud, eles just being eles, etc). Did this patch address this issue? …No it didn’t. In fact it made things worst for warriors with the introduction of Torment. A class that relies on sticking on top of opponents to do damage will now be heavily punished with a condition that’s stronger than bleeds and ticks whenever the warrior moves. Ouch.

Why is this so difficult to understand? A class that is forced to be in the fray of an enemy team to do anything useful simply has more survivability needs. Why do the classes with powerful ranged options have a stronger heal than warriors, still? That is the first and foremost issue that should have been addressed. Ranged classes: They survive through kiting with teleports, stealths, cripples, chills. They don’t need an ultra mega powerful heal. Melee classes do need that stronger heal! Because melee!

What…the…

I would withhold* until things are put in practice considering there is seemingly balance shifts within other professions that make them more vulnerable to begin with. That and torments practical value is up in the air when of the three applicants, Mes and Thief don’t have a precedent in conditions and may likely not be running it anyways.
On top of the adjustments made to War.
While nothing sticks out, might as well see how things run as a whole.

The great forum duppy.

The axe nerf doesn’t make any sense. The only change the skill needed was to change the names to Chop → Choppin → Lotsa Choppin.

Nerfing leg specialist is the big one for me. Blade trail hitting twice is a major part of how I set up my burst. A 5 second cooldown really kills how I fight on my warrior.

Endure pain got a huge buff, and berserkers stance -100% condition duration sounds really nice. Most people don’t have +condition duration, so it will completely negate all of the clutter conditions and allow for condition removal abilities to focus on the conditions from condition builds.

“We recognize that the changes to [ele] will essentially remove it from play. In the future,
we may consider whether or not there is an incarnation of [ele] that would be viable
but balanced. For now, we do not expect it to see serious use.” – ANet

But berserker’s stance is a 60 second cooldown now. Plus the trait that gave berserker’s stance had that effect cut out. I see the new berserker’s stance as useful as signet of stamina now, which also has a 60 second cooldown. It doesn’t seem that game changing in theory due to the long cooldown.

Why negate condition when you can do better and just remove it. Berserker’s stance only for WvW, in sPvP it’ll never get used eitherway. But then again most people just run lemon grass + dogged march + melandru so conditions aren’t an issue for WvW.

Also berserker’s stance isn’t a stun breaker which is odd, since every other stance are stunbreakers, and they have no CD reduction. Why does every other class have CD reduction option but warriors for stances? I don’t know. Their warrior play tester must be some kind of unkillable god that destroys all other classes.

No pressure relieving options… like fear me… or that stomp knock down thing… I would consider those equivalent to the utilities you mention in regards to thief mesmer albeit of different mechanics.

With a lot less damage, and Guardians doing more damage, adding more CC, better team support. Why bring a War over guardian?

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/%22Save_Yourselves!%22 is 100x better then Endure Pain. It can also be reduced to 48 seconds.

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Contemplation_of_Purity is 100x better then the new Berserker’s Stance. It can also be reduced to 48 seconds.

Not only does it prevent the conditions and damage, but it lets you completely mitigate them for a long period and helps your allies. Not to mention a much much lower cool-down.

Guardians recieved no nerfs, warrior’s damage if the notes are true, got cut out by almost 20-25%.

Hello everyone , moktahr there.

I just wanted to answer aquin about his post :
“relieving options… like fear me… or that stomp knock down thing”

while it could be true that those skills can relieve pressure , there’s something essentialy different with those skills when we compare them with the other classes defensive skills. They are tagged as attacks , thus can be blocked , evaded , miss on blind.

When taking pressure as a warrior , expect to get blinded a lot : it prevents most of your retaliation. You can’t even locate target foe ears or the ground under your feets when you are blinded , so thoses skills will most likely fail miserably under pressure.

Also an FS spamming thief slicing through your meat as some chances of evading those effects while not even knowing he did. Same goes for other classes that get invulnerability or blocks somewhat frequently.

Ho and yeah don’t expect that ranger spamming you miles away from you to ear more than 1 sec of your shoot , and he won’t even notice that you sort of stomped the ground.

Theorically one could have made those utility skill both offensive and defensive. But considering the amount of passive shutdown there is in the game , those 2 skill are not practically reliable.
