Warriors: Any good survivability builds?
Not too effectively. Guardians can do it far, far better than you can. Survivability is more about skill utility than health and armor, although you’ll need those too. Warriors don’t really have skill utility.
What you’re doing now is about as good as it gets. Bring a shield for 5 seconds of invulnerability and a little more armor (which won’t mean a whole lot but may buy you another three or so seconds), and bring your shouts, and maybe save a slot for endure pain, if you’re doing absolutely nothing but just trying to waste peoples’ time as they pound on you. Although, again, a Guardian can do that, far, far better.
Warrior builds tend to gravitate either to the middle ground, or as cute little novelty glass cannon builds you run in team games, where one person will stunlock someone so that you can burst them down in a couple of seconds.
Either way, on their own, Warriors are almost completely worthless. Which is weird. You’d think Warriors would have the opposite problem. But either way, in sPvP I suggest you focus on some sort of support build, find people, and follow them around while trying to avoid being targeted by enemies. Surviving as a Warrior is more about helping the people around you (the better professions) survive.
I ran double sword with high toughness/condition damage and 20 points in the defensive trait line.
Bleeds aren’t the most effective way to kill people quickly but i could stay alive for a long time.
You can run a mobility build for survival that has good damage. You just have to get good at knowing when to get out of a situation, which a warrior can do well.
I personally run a Cc/Support build and feel that survivability is more of a proactive playstyle then say reactive with a Guardian. So if you can control your target and keep sustained damage youre in a much better place then trying to “tank” an opponent. Basically running a hammer defense build with sword/war horn is my setup ATM. I would forgo shout heals for control! But you might hate that playstyle its just what’s worked for me. If you wanna “tank”, a guardian is much more optimal.
Please continue to believe that warriors can’t be defensive. I really would like a buff to the already viable defensive builds we have. Shouts, etc.
The Warrior has great defensive ability. Run with hammer and 1h sword\shield combo. With the right runes and such you get over 30k hp with tons of cc, mitigation, and escapability.
Thanks for the reply’s, will help me out a lot. Appreciate it.
I ran a sword/shield Toughness > Precision/Condition Damage > Power Build, sword gave me mobility and bleeds on the enemy. Shield with right trails add toughness and missile reflects + stance duration increase. This build was a lot of fun, placing enemies in confusion when interrupt, reflecting their long range attacks so they damaged themselves instead stuff like that.
Over all the build required lots of timing and patience since you won’t be dealing excessive amounts of damage but it did survive well and did kill well. My utility skills were Bolas, Bull rush and Fear me.
As for elite in world vs world I used hounds of Balthazar in Spvp at first I went for juggernaut yet the animation delays for this skill didn’t match my playing style so I moved to the banner which name I forgot, only cause it allowed me to revive fallen allies in mass while doing some good buffing when fighting around the conquering point.
JUGGERNAUT FOR THE WIN!!! I love transforming and knocking people all around for 20 seconds or so. So fun…
FGJ, SIO, Stability stance
10/0/30/30/0
The important traits are auto shake it off and shouts heal
Great hammer and weapon/shield
Solider armor set, removes condition on shout.
This build destroys pretty much any glass cannon, heart seeker thieves ain’t got nothing on this build, and turns any 2v2 into a 2v1.5. With shield block and proper hammering you can stay alive for almost as long as a guardian.

Double EP is the only real survivability you get. For the rest use CC.
Your goal as a Warrior is to kill before being killed, that’s it.
