Was this season success?
The sound of crickets is all you’re getting from them..
Depends on whether or not you’re comparing to last season. It was definitely better than last season, but still not a complete success.

I doubt it, primordial legends are sticking to their primordial title; now that says a lot. Now if by season, you meant meta included then it’s up for debate, otherwise last season (S1) was better.
I know a lot of people disliked the bunkers in season one but winning/ losing games by 400 points isn’t fun either. Where are those last minute plays that win/ lose the match? I would rather deal with bunkers and have a close fun match than not and have these blow out matches

I actually like bunkers, it feels more satisfying killing a bunker than killing something that dies in 2 seconds.

I’m of the same mind but I think we are in the minority on this
Where are those last minute plays that win/ lose the match?
I’ve had about 100x more of these this season than last. Last season it took 5 mins to cap anything.

The meta is better but the matchmaking system can use improvement.

I only had a few the rest were complete blow out matches. But that’s just my experience

2 points capped last season = win because in a bunker vs bunker fight you almost never capped or killed anything..
this season was a big succes compared to the last one
this season was a shame, conditional Meta.. srsly thats not the game, yea she was better as last season. We need Balance since HoT, but she do nothing, as change amuletts…

I think this season was a lot more fun than the last. I found playing Druid this season to be a lot more fun than playing bunker ele last season, I can’t wait to see what the meta will be after the patch and to see which class I want to play to legendary in season 3.
The meta was more fun, there were closer matches and I found it a lot easier to get to legendary this season because I got there in a couple weeks whereas I got to legendary 1 day before the end of season 1. I know this is just my experience, but I have had a lot more last minute plays to win/lose the game, and I have had 2 of the most incredible comebacks I have ever done just in season 2. In one of them I came from 280-480 down and got a Lord kill to win the game about 500-485, in the other my team was 380-499 down and we managed to hold a 3 cap and not die until we won 500-499. Both of those felt amazing to do.
Overall I think this season was a success and was loads of fun to play in. I can’t wait to see how season 3 is going to be.

I enjoyed this season more than season one.
- Nobody expected that I had to play a specific build (playing non-bunker mesmer last season, I stopped at ruby because of that)
- I took my time and played only a few games per day. I started late and made it to mid-diamond.
- The first levels (amber, emerald, sapphire) were mostly blowouts but at ruby and diamond I got good games about as often as blowouts
- The individual fights were more interesting
- There was little to no rage in the games I played. A couple people quit when it was clear that a team was going to lose. But I liked the general friendliness of map chat
- I’ve kept playing a couple of ranked games per day at the end here just for fun. I know I won’t make legend (and probably shouldn’t make legend) – the matchups are just usually fun
personally this season has been the worst experience of my 10 years of guild wars playing but then I suppose there are always 2 sides – winners and losers – and your opinion probably depends on which side you are – for me 99% of matches were blow outs and no real competitive ones. Too many endless losing streaks without any hope and factors outside of my control – but I made loads of mistakes at the beginning and paid for it and I am still learning . my season was effectively over 3 weeks ago

Primordial Legend sounds better than exalted legend. Exalted legend makes you look like some kitten that farms AB all day

The other reason to stick to primordial legend is if you have exalted legend, then the legendary icon next to your name already shows you have it making the title redundant for now.

I would say this was a much better season. Season 1 had the bunker meta that got a bit stale. The bunker meta was much better than the 1 Second pvp burst that favored your connection. The change in meta allowed Australian players to participate and produced fights that allowed for an exchange of skill, rather than who has the faster connection.
Season 2 was nicer in the sense that it wasn’t pure bunker and 15 minute fights didn’t happen often. Yes MMR hell/heaven was there, but it was nice to get Winstreaks to offset garbage match ups so you could progress.

I can’t see how this can be seen as a success no matter how you look at it. Yeah, there were improvements over last seasons meta and the rank is a bit more related to skill but there also has been important downgrades. The most important of these being 95% of the matches of the season being landslides one way or the other. It never really stabilized for me. The close cool and fun match-up are the exception not the norm. Soloq is a complete fiasco.
I didn’t really play last season, but from what I’ve read they’ve made improvements, but it still could be better, especially in the balance front. They need to inject genuine skill into how classes are played. I don’t even know I managed to get into legendary without the expac since several elite specs can carry low skilled people into high divisions alone.
Late in the season my experience was that at least the divisions do somewhat represent a degree of skill. In every division except high diamond and legendary most of the people I played against and with seemed to deserve their bracket. There were always exceptions, though. I pity the poor players who were stuck with a team that could not be carried.
That being said, most of my matches were blowouts. I had 30+ winstreaks with 1 or 2 losses in sapphire, 2 or 3 losses in ruby and about 5-6 losses in all of diamond. So I wish there’d be a way to get good players where they need to be quickly, but then again it can be done in a week. It probably isn’t this easy to rank up at the start of a season when anybody can be anywhere.

I think people are doing that because exalted legend sounds generic and primordial legend sounds bad kitten .

Haha, THATs exactly how I felt after loosing 28 pips in Diamond, from T6 all the way back down into T1. I got so angry I was typing obscenities into map chat.
A little hard to call that a success… I think the matchmaking problems were underestimated. That, or they are making new elite specs or something cool and couldn’t be bothered to fix it.

I think season 2 was better than season 1. Balance is still crappy but way more enjoyable than last season – elites really need to be brought down to core spec level.
The leagues got improved as well but once again suffer from certain design flaws that were discussed countless times (no losing tiers causes new amber in ruby, matchmaking always putting losing and winning team against each other, no placement matches that would prevent low skill players to get farmed by veterans etc.)
I hope for season 3 that they will improve it and not turn it to the worse.

Um yea nobody likes predetermined matches except maybe those who get put on the obvious winning side and really don’t want a fair fight or any type of a challenge, so this season thumbs down, no-brainer.

Naaa, bunkers can be killed it just takes coordination and team work and strategy…something I guess most people in pvp these days don’t have or are not interested in. From what I’ve been reading seems most people these days just wanna 1 vs 1 everything and 1 shot each other & have them die in 1 second flat. To me that’s just not fun…but if I’m in the minority on this I guess I’ll just have to remain in the minority and look for more interesting things to do……
It wasn’t painfully boring like the bunker meta and just normally boring instead so it was a minor success. I hit a pretty nasty matchmaking wall at the end that killed it for me when it decided my win rate was too high and I wasn’t allowed to progress anymore. There’s still huge power gap between vanilla and elite specs and tons of useless builds, weapons, skills, traits, etc.
