Now that the solo arena is coming I was thinking about the problem with hotjoin. Still a lot of people play hotjoin zerg games since that is the most effective glory/hour activity and a lot of people are probably still operating in the mindset that more glory = more ranks = how it is ment to be played.

Now for solo arena to be healthy and with lower queue times, we need more people trying it and sticking to it (this would also benefit team arenas in the longer perspective). But I am affraid that once people realize they dont get as much glory as in hotjoins, some go back to mindless glory zombie farm. Hotjoins not only give you more glory from killing stuff in big zergs, there is also no queue and pre-match times which overall pushes the glory gain disparity even further.

Wouldnt it be a good idea to boost the bonus glory you gain for a win in solo/team arena so that assuming the 50% win ratio, the glory per hour gain would be AT LEAST same as in case of hotjoins? This would probably require a significant boost from current 200, but why the kitten not?

Ranked games (team & solo) should give 2x times the amount of glory you get in hotjoin.

why care bout playerz before it even started? SoloQ will have alot playerz and i dont see the point why YOU wanna change something when theres no need.

Hotjoin is fine and when you dont like it just ignore it and dont trie to change ppls mind which playing it for fun.

What would be the downside of this? Hotjoin doesnt even have queue, it just keeps populating more servers when there is more players. If glory gain from tPvP and hotjoin would be roughly same (as opposed to now when glory gains in hotjoin are MUCH better), how would that interfere with your desire to play hotjoins (if that is the case?).

Hotjoin neds to go. Its mere existence cripples and consumes PvP from within.

cant you guyz understand it is an mmorpg and it has an mmorpg playerbase and alot playerz in hotjoin just go there to make pvp and dont wanna care for a leaderboard or ranking or tactic or whatever

they jsut go in solo and mess with some wtf-builds or do it with 2-3 friends and so on
this ppl make pvp just to make pvp – to have fun

hotjoin is fine and dont need any change – when you think you need more glory than this ppl or more rankpointz or whatever makes you happy than ask for it but dont force people to play with you when they dont kitten care bout how you think the game have to be.

pvp population in this game is so bad it dont need some wannabe elitists to mess with the casual pvp – JUST NO

this game even need much more casual pvp – like all this event (pvp) activities – dont understand why they dont add this to the hotjoin browser^^

we need to bring more ppl in pvp not remove them

I don’t want glory farmers in my team zerging from point to point, getting crushed at group fights and backcapped when they avoid them. For regular players the glory gain is better in tournaments, for hotjoin farmers the glory gain is better in hotjoin. Perfect.

Desolation is the main Pvp server – yet days pass without a single team forming in mapchat for tournament.

Why? Not just because low number of active players, but because if you make an r40+ team, most of the guys who join you will be the ones that farmed their rank from hotjoin, because decent guys got their own team, don’t want to destroy rating, and know they can’t trust hotjoin heroes. – it’s good that they want to finally start playing tournaments, but they are too late with that, since their rank is usually ways higher than their experience.

You just can’t pick guys by their rank any longer bacuse of hotjoin grinding.

Strange mentioning this , but back then when i was 24 lvl , i couldnt join a team , beacause they wanted as a <<must>> to be 30+ in the Desolation chats
It felt like all over again Gearscore in wow(u should have the best gear to join a new formed team)
Never looked back to find an other team :P

No it is not. For regular players glory gains will NOT be better than in hotjoins. Unless you have 100% win ratio which is unrealistic. Count the queue times and waiting times in, you will get less glory in tournaments than in hotjoin no matter how good or bad player you are.

And as to avoid glory farmers in tPvP, that is why I suggested to boost the win bonus glory. If you will just run around to farm glory, you will loose a match and cripple your glory gains. I would like that playing AND WINNING tPvP to be the best glory gain. This would encourage more objective oriented play and boost queues in solo arenas.

Why not make some fun game modes too? It’s like in fps game. There has to be game mode where you can go shoot enemies while you are drunk. Not complicated objects and tactics. Just plain and simple fighting.

I agre, hot join is for people that want to be baby sitted by other players, it needs to go, how can a zerg fest give more points than actual skilled gameplay.

Wait to see the participation levels of Solo queue it’ll likely be fine.
