We already have dueling, 3v3 deathmatch, etc?
this games combat is much better suited to small skirmishes, big fights just become an aoe zerg which is stupid. problem is you always get trolls who will join hotjoin midfight and randomly attack in the middle of a 3vs3 or duel so its hard to organise.
+1 for 3v3 or 2v2 deathmatch
GW2 doesn’t support dueling well.
Like at all.
Finding a server with other people looking to duel, especially people of similar skill, is an utter pain in the kitten.
If ‘play now’ does not grace you with a lucky draw of the hat, you’re gonna have to spend a good half hour jumping threw instances until you find someone worth dueling.
BAD BAD SETUP.
Finding a worthwhile 3v3 server would be about 5 times as hard and interrupted at least twice as much by random puggers looking to just randomly kill kitten without regards to the constant stream of ‘this is a dueling server gtfo’.
A matchmaking system setup for it would avoid all of those problems.
Pug conquest is gay, just gonna throw it out there, so I don’t really see any problem with asking for more ways to PvP.

Considering the last game I played was Dark Souls, where they had an organised dueling scene despite the developer’s best attempts to make it impossible (you can’t guarantee you’ll connect to the right player, and anyone can invade you and grief both of you) I’d say this game has it fairly easy.
When you organise your tournaments, just make sure you have enough observers/referees/people waiting for the next round to fill up the empty spots.
If any random DOES manage to join the game, and won’t leave when politely asked, then the participants on his team will stand aside, and the participants on the enemy team can just team-gank him until he leaves.
