So we are within a day of the newest Season of SPvP, perhaps the big first step towards a working competitive system not bound by reward but merit.

I think anyone who has touched on Ranked PvP understands that something like this has been a…long time coming. Slightly undercutting it, but I digress. That being said, it is extremely likely that tomorrow, there’s likely going to be problems. Heck, the latest Overwatch Ranked Season started bumpy with some matchmaking hi-jinx and confusion about personal ranking. It’ll be impressive if everything was better just in general.

But there’s one, single, tiny little thing I want to get off my chest. Something nagging at me at the start of every single season we’ve had so far. Would it be possible…

Would it be possible for us to maybe give it a day or two before we start posting the rage threads?

C’mon guys! We don’t have to be toxic after losing our first match due to a poor rotation, being ‘outcomped’, having someone afk because the other team paid him 50g, wondering how a hard counter lost 1v1 to the countered profession, wiping at a lord rush, getting condibombed, being stunlocked, being condibombed AND stunlocked…so on so forth.

We gonna be cool right? Staying positive right? Just 24 hours guys! That’s easy!

ummmm no this game is almost 5 years old.

Basic things that PvP needed years ago.

Good leader board of top 500 players, top 10- based on class, unique titles and skins not handed out to anyone who casually plays it for 2 weeks, good build diversity for classes as well with a decent reward system.

Alot of people are mad because Anet has changed the direction of the game not for the betterment of the game.

For instance since you bring up the new season, they got rid of team que. What was the point of getting rid of 8 vs 8 hot joins? I would rather play stronghold 8 vs 8 then a season where i go 50-5 and i see people above me at 100-100.

So i i say the opposite, Anet get your act together and give PvP one good season! just one!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You’re basically throwing a fox into a hen house while asking it to play nice. I’ll honestly be surprised if we don’t see a “You screwed up matchmaking” thread or something similar tomorrow.

I swear this has to be the only community that continues to spout the buzzword “toxic” about everyone and everything. People can’t form basic definitions anymore.

At least we get something. It might even be enough to let me forget, that WvW class balance won’t happen anytime soon. Finally something to do. Old seasons were pointless after you reached legendary.

My guess what people will tick off are these placement matches, because you will probably get matched with very random people. Everyone will be super tryhard. Just imagine the amount of salt. I will probably not play ranked right from the start. There is still Wintersday, where I can feed the orphans with dirty wool socks for karma …

I personally prefer lice and mosquitoes. They don’t multiply as fast.

On my first match of the season I went to swap characters to even our comp out, and ended up stuck on a infinite loadscreen and had to restart the client. (I’m now on people’s ignore list for “throwing”)

You want some bugs? Here you go: if you team up and your teammate queues while you are in combat, you can’t accept the queue (was the same before patch) HOWEVER once you get out of combat you STILL can’t accept the queue and have to cancel it and queue yourself.

I found a bug for you Evan, system shows me with 1649 rating with platinum badge, but says the minimum bound is 1650 rating. If I had to guess I’d say there’s some rounding involved with one number but not the other, but idk.

Permeating Wrath on Guard nullifies the increased base condi duration in-spite the tooltip being correct.

Tooltip says 4s, burn only lasts for 2s.

When you play invisible, your effectiveness rating doesn’t update until you come “online” again. Is that just a bug in the UI?
