I like how it punishes critical/ zerker builds, but having it affect condition damage could be beneficial in this game, as it would give an alternative way to counter conditions outside of cleansing. It would make counter playing more interesting.

might is usually for 10 or 20sec, weakness is much shorter duration so it needs to be more powerfull
+1 for weakness affecting condition damage, since condition damage is very hard to mitigate. But it would be hard to implement, because its hard to know when should you receive less damage with conditions.
With direct damage its pretty simple: If you target is weakened, when he hits it deals less damage. But what about conditions? Should you receive less damage when your enemy cast a spell he was weakened, or when you are actually getting tick damage?
-50% power and condi dmg, period? 100% of the time? Not even a 50% or 25% chance?
If so, then that would be a horrible suggestion. Weakness would be the most OP condition in the game, as if it isn’t already up there.
Ironically weakness is affecting the meta but not affecting the meta. It’s affecting it in that a lot of DPS classes get handicapped right because if they get weakness, they become pretty useless…forcing them use burn their condi clears. If you don’t clear the weakness, you might as well not even try to hit someone since half of it will be glancing blows. It’s NOT affecting the meta in the sense that it doesn’t affect condi dmg and most people wanting to win in this meta play necroes or spirit rangers.
The combination of the above is one of the reasons why the condi meta is so strong right now…the new blind + weakness affected DPS builds by A LOT, while buffing condi builds by a lot.
Toughness doesn’t affect condi dmg, weakness doesn’t affect condi dmg, so thats why it’s pretty unstoppable. You can argue that Vitality is the way to go, but it’s BS because let’s face it, it can save you for maybe a few more secs, but you’re still going to melt away no matter how much vitality you have.

You can heal through raw damage.
You can heal through conditions (to some extent, because there are conditions affecting your heal cooldown (chill) and ones debuffing the heal you get (poison))
You cant cleanse damage
You can cleanse conditions mitigating their damage completely
You can dodge block/damage
You can dodge condition aplication but not their effects
Weakness reduces raw damage builds
Weakness doesnt affect conditions
Out of the 4 aspects conditions prevails on 3 of them.
No need to analyze toughness and vitality because we know that story already
Theres clearly an advantage to conditions

It would be interesting if there was some way to reduce condition damage to punish condition bursts that dominate now, although it should be a different means rather than 1-size fits all. This would really promote balanced builds that bring both power/condi, thus reducing burst overall and making fights way more interesting.
The big issue I have with this suggestion is that weakness only reduces direct damage by a net of 25%. 50% chance at 50% damage comes to a 25% reduction.
Seriously, conditions dot/debuff should mainly be used to set up kill by getting everyone low with dots and cc and have your partners kill them which should be the role of any power/burst build. That’s it. This is probably the only game where conditions are so strong, that any heavy condition build : necro, ranger, engineer, just spam buttons to not only get everyone low, but BURST them!
