It doesn’t matter if a weapon favours power more over lets say precision. In the end it will get normalised with set stats.

All stats are given by the amulet and rune that you choose. All that a weapon does in T/SPvP is active that weapons skills for you to use in the match. Meaning that what the weapon quality/stat type is is meaningless.

You could have a nomads ascended greatsword (somehow) and it won’t matter.

All that matters is whether the weapons SKILLS favor one form of attacking over another. But thats up to you and the game mechanics.

Not compleatly true, clothes also matter – it doesn’t matter what kind of clothes you wear, but if you don’t wear them, it changes your stats – don’t fight nude!

:D Also what about WvW. Does the same principle apply?

No wvw is pure pve stats
