I think they are keeping it around as a more casual, non streamed tournament intended for non-top teams.

With this much competition every week there will be teams that just directly try to counter them, MORE good teams. For example becuz esports I was able to form a team 4/5 in under 2 hours. With good solid players. Normally the response you would get is, “well maybe we can pug team q every now and then”

tldr: basically esports will prolly triple the amount of teams. All good quality ( we hope )

We at ESL won’t stop any of our other weekly cups, they’re still open to sign up for at our old site: http://www.esl.eu/eu/guildwars2/

Some more attention on PvP and scrutiny with a financial backer can only be a good thing. Don’t think of it as £100 to TCG or CM each week just think what the effect on balance updates and attention with more promotion will do – its a positive thing.

A few clarification questions…

Does the Monthly take place the first weekend of each month and at the same times the Weekly starts?

If this is the case, will the Weekly be skipped the weekend of the Monthly? I would assume so.

This is great news for sure. But my question is do you think we will get more updates now to really push the boundaries of what this game could be. This is a start but i still think the game needs more to really bring people back to it and just basically make it what it could be.

In Grouch we trust! Keeping push us forward ESL crew! GJ ALL in the community who supported the push to weekly paid tournaments!

The prizing really needs to be spread out to the top 3, 4, or even 5 teams.

If people think they can get fifth in a tourney and win like…5 bucks even…. I’m sure we’ll see a few more teams sign up and actually try.

If it’s top 2 places awarded, then grats Abjured and some other super pug of well known names. This tourney is meant to award them money. No one else even comes close.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad this is happening. There just isn’t enough competition in sPvP, and only awarding the top 2 teams isn’t enough.

More free money for TCG and Abjured. Why is the moeny only for 1st and second? And 400 for 1st and 100 for second? There should be 300 /150 / 50 or something like that.

So that’s 80€/80$ for each member of the wining team each week, plus 200€/200$ for each member of the wining team at the end of the month.

As I see in the ESL web site there are 5 weekely cups comming this November month.

That’s a total of 600€/600$ for each player of TCG and Abjured at the end of this month.

Average of 520€/520$ for each member of TCG and Abjured each month.

Not bad at all…

In EU are some teams able to beat TCG. MiM for example was very close to win last time. I guess the weekly cups will be awesome to watch. I am sure that with the money more teams will play at top tier. Esports!!
