When you join a Ranked match, what class are you generally happiest to see on your team?

Right now for me, it is Engies and Elementalists. I agree all classes can contribute.

I look for certain things when I look at my team. I look at level, gear, weapons, titles etc. as a rough indication of whether or not a player has a lot of hours on their class or in PvP. For me I like to find players with good gear and PvP titles that show me they are capable with their class, whatever it might be.

If i had to pick a class though I guess i’d god D/D eles

I’m happy to see anyone that plays well. I don’t care about what gear they have, their AP, level, or title. They may be on an alt (like my level 2 Norn I made just to have one, that never goes out of PvP) or have left their better gear on another toon. The PvP community is rather small, so I tend to recognize people I’ve played with/against before. I have respect for anyone that plays their class well, as well as anyone making a sincere effort to improve. I don’t play ranked very often though, so perhaps I have different expectations than other players for that reason.

engis and gaurdians… i play a mesmer, its nice to have someone bunker while i float around like a butterfly and sting like a bee.

I think most people agree its engies and elemenatists. I also like seeing a shoutbow or hambow warrior with banner.

It really depends on the whole team composition but I’m usually glad to see engis, thieves and necros.

With so many engis around, it’s nice to have someone like necros who can take care of them quick.

It also depends on the skill level and the build they run. I like having a thief around because of the map coverage and high burst which can be helpful in many fights. But if suddenly I have all the venoms in the world on me, I’m not too happy about that.

And that’s why I like going on lvl 2 titleless/skinless characters with the deer finisher :P

I don’t like seeing the champ titles tbh. I’ve found that a lot of people that use them have them just to show them off, but are average players at best.

How many bad mesmers/thieves/rangers do you get compared to engis/eles/wars?

People on these classes simply perform better. What I absolutely hate is having a comp with two thieves vs a team with two engis or eles… I know I’m in for a very rough game.

Don’t get me wrong, I only ever use this as a rough indication of a player’s ability, you can never be sure and I have been both pleasantly and unpleasantly surprised. PvP Titles to me at least indicate familiarity with the PvP mechanics which is reassuring at least

engi, because broken class, engis increase yoour chances of win by a lot
celery, because too stronk atm
bunker guards, because they can rez my poor thief

I don’t have much luck with Engis.

My matches usually go well if there is an ele or a War.

2 of anything is bad.

Dagger/focus ele here, people get thrilled with me bc it outshines any D/D ele

I think I am happiest when I am the only thief on my team. Also, when there is someone on my team whom I have played with before. xD

I am happy to see engis in my team, the more the better.

Anything that doesn’t go Svanir just to die. As long as team isn’t super stacked or filled with PvE heroes, it doesn’t really matters if people can play their classes.

Id rather have 4 Rangers who know what they are doing than 4 newbie cengis or celes.

Not profession, build.
I am happy to see a cele D/D ele or cele staff ele; but not a fresh-air-ele or some other kind of non-meta build.
The same goes for cele engi vs static discharge engi.
I am also happy to get a cele or soldier warrior, shoutbow or hambow does not matter.
Survival Rangers are also appreciated.

They are effective and not too hard to play.

Basically I am not happy about berserker-builds or non-meta-builds.
Most players can’t pull them off, and will just be most of the time in downstate, on respawn, or just completely useless.

But nevertheless, there are always some players, who have proven me wrong with still being effective with unusual builds.

ele, engi, guard, hambow . . .

in that order . . . other classes are mmha.
