I have a question what class could best fit me? I like to be successful in pvp and a little bit of pve but I do not know what class to choose anybody that could help me choose?

Well I don’t know I want to last a lot and also play in both pve and pvp I tried thief condition dmg but I could only take off Warriors and rangers then I tried glass cannon and it is too squishy then elementalist and i get targeted A LOT like they take me down in no time lol I like melee and rangered and no no pets Not going to play ranger even if they got better >.>

Tank D/D Ele is the strongest class in the game right now. Necro has aoe sig res+the highest dps and is necessary in every tPvP team.
If you’re not worried about January’s balance changes, those 2 are your best bets right now.

^ make sure you keep one slot unused so you can delete it and roll a new character for Spvp solely

ranger, hands down. arguably one of the top pvp classes right now. all it took was some pet and mobility buffs. melts everything in pve with traps and axes, mind u all profs can do that. in spvp, crushes d/d ele and thief facerollers. condition ranger – best bleed stacker in the game.

right now I agree with nerva, Ranger all the way good safe choice as they just got fixes so wont get toned down anytime soon.

@Xom & nerva: I would love to hear what build you guys are running. I tried trapper/condi earlier, but it still felt like a lesser version of my engine and necro … so maybe I am doing it wrong.

@OP: Guardians are always a solid choice in both pve and pvp. I am not sure about necro’s in pve, but they are pretty solid in pvp (yes, you get targeted a lot as well). Ele’s are doing quite well, once you get used to it … you DO however have to have a good build otherwise you will be tomato-paste in seconds, but if you do have that, then it is a very strong class. If you don’t like to manage too many things, then I doubt engineer is for you, while they are certainly an entertaining and viable class.

Guardian or ele bunker if you want the easy and lame way, even portal mes.
Honourable condition or spike build if you want to be successful and win with style
It will take way longer to master but at least you’ll know how to play.

Sounds like you have face-roll syndrome. Go roll a thief, its pretty simple to learn and will be right up your pub-stomp ally.

Who said I’ve played WoW? Lol people this days talk without knowing xC. And I did thought rangers got better I saw a few and their buffs last very long I tried one xD buy meh still dont know anybody knows a good bunker build for ele? And a burst dmg with some survavility with thief?

How come? What build? I created a ranger and acty ally a thief ran from me and okay it wasn’t the best thief but runing? Just took me 2. Traps

All classes can be the best for you…if you enjoy playing it learning to play better and better…there are not best classes here, there are different game styles…you can rule with pretty much everything if you play good…

The irony being that Pallys/Rogues are currently kitten in PvP in WoW. But hey, way to sound like a kitten and try to make this game’s community just as bad as that one’s. To OP, while there is a lot of merit to ‘whatever playstyle you like the most’, this doesn’t necessarily = success. IMO mesmer is the way to go. Their toolkit allows for a wide variety of counters to just about every class and you do awesome damage and you have one of the most annoying downed states in the game. Have fun!

To be succesfull in pvp you have to l2p, and this is the only way…if you want to just stomp noobs in hot join just smashing your kb well…you can run an hb warrior, an hs thief, a shatter mesmer, a granade dps engi…there are lots of glass cannon/nab rollers specs out there, but be careful…if you meet a just decent player you’re going to feel the real azzpain..and playing those gc crap you’re not going to learn how to play..

Someone already said it, but just play what you like. Every profession has a fighting chance these days, it’s just that some are more a bit more involved than others. If you’re brand new, I probably wouldn’t recommend Elementalist or Engineer for example because they tend to have a higher skill floor, making it harder to perform well when you have no clue about how the class works.

Warrior, guardian, ranger, and thief to an extent are somewhat easy to play when you’re brand new in PvP.

well you can aoe smash nab’s zergs pretty good with that…but yeah maybe you need actually some more skills than haste/hs or frenzy/hb…
