What did you do to spvp?
and thus it began, the Q.Q that we’ve all been waiting for..
seriously.. instead of crying about those pve scrubs, you should enjoy it.. atleast pvp has alot of people now.
You still get coins from matches….
I’m enjoying the fast queue pops and having good looking gear for once
Yes… I only wait 10 minutes for team and 25 min for solo tournaments in average…
Yeah I love the hiding the ranks of people at the end just to avoid the threads in the forum xD, the last patch was made to bait pve players into spvp, now you have to wait for a good matchmaking system
Seriously, it was much better when we got gold… Do you really think that it is motivating to play for rewards that have absolutely no value?
When we had gold in sPvP? when was that? rewards that have absolutely no value? You mean like the PvP skins we used to get?
Maybe you did not play tournaments, but there were silvers for win and even for loosing the game. The point is that there was supposed to be a new reward system with amezing rewards… and what do we have now? Before we had pvp skins at least, what do we have now? Chests with 2 green items? Amazing! t1 crafting materials? AMAZING! And after 40 wins you even get 2 t6 materials! AMAZING! Personaly, I don’t really think that such rewards are worth something…

You’re saying we don’t have silver when we win now? Haven’t tried the patch just yet, I assumed it was still so.
How do we get gold then?
Yes… I only wait 10 minutes for team and 25 min for solo tournaments in average…
I really don’t know how you manage to do that. No matter what time I queue, the average waiting time is 45 seconds.
Op post is insulting and inappropriate. Honestly keep that garbage to yourself. Not to mention that you’re so very wrong in your stance on the matter. Spvp needed fresh players badly. Some will get better while others will sink to the low brackets, as is appropriate.
first of all give it time, you act like some elistist wannabe, all those pve players will get good prolly better than you. and we still recieve gold/silver when we win or lose. and reward tracks are way better than before. and Q times yours 10 mins? to 25 mins? you play in Oceanic server? wait there is none. my Q times even during non peak hours is 4 mins. rank means time spent not skills. so given time those pve scrubs you call will have time spent in pvp like you do and eventually play like you do. i dont agree about hiding rank at the end but like devs said showing rank just creates prejudice towards low rank by blaming them everytime you lose.

Making it so you can actually look good in PvP was horrible, yes.
ANet please change it so we look like trash again, that made me really enjoy playing it.
Game over, yo.

No, the matchmaking system is USUALLY pretty good (not saying it can’t use, or doesn’t need improvements mind you), the main issue is there’s a surge of players of all sorts of skill levels who aren’t IN the matchmaking system yet because they’ve never touched PvP.
Once these people get situated where they need to be, it’ll be A LOT better overall.

I am on EU server and I do really wait for matches this long. And it is really annoying, when you wait 10 minutes for tournament and than you get some ranks 20 who don’t have a clue what to do and you are against 70+…
And to reward system… seriously… tell me one reason why is it better than the previous one. Just one good reason please.

Lucky you…. My team arena queue is 5-10 min. (Europe server, prime time). I wasn’t able to start solo arena yet (after patch), because I stop queue after 15 mins. I dont speak for majority, but for me it isn’t funn at all to spend 60% of time waiting for a game…

Dude, it doesn’t mean that if you wait less than one minute for a game, that all the others wait less than one minute too…

Just my 2 cents, My ques are much faster, I feel a lot more satisfaction out of playing being able to easily change my cosmetics and see my exp bar, and track bar moving.
New map is super fun.
Sure lots of “baddies”…which is suprising cause I haven’t touched this game in nearly a year and I’m still top score in almost every game, but hey…they are “bad” on the other team too.
I really have nothing but positive feelings about it, its convinced me and my other friend to take a break from other pvp games we’ve been playing to give it another chance.
Pros: Having new people to play with is always great.
Cons: The new “reward system” is lackluster.
PvP needs new modes.

Well If you are referring to glory then I would say that it was a pretty poor reward. You never spent it on anything worthwhile. And now you get rewards that are good for PvP AND PvE. And if you say “I don’t want PvE in my PvP” Then you ARE being very elitist because you still are rewarded with items that are relevant to the game mode you are participating in. Not only that but you now have the ability to gain skins that were never possible in PvP. That coupled with the fact that ArenaNet are actually paying attention to PvP at all. I would say that the implementation of the new rewards system and the patch in general was a breathe of fresh air.
We got
- New players
- New skins
- New traits
- A new map, and the removal of a map
- A new game type, even though it is only on the aforementioned new map.
- A megaserver. Which is opinionated but I love it.
- More money
- More rank points
- Crafting materials from reward tracks.
- Leveling tomes
- Skill point scrolls
- Items for leveling characters with leveling tomes.
All in all I would say that ArenaNet did a good job on this one. Some would say they dislike the changes but at least they are CHANGES. The stagnation was killing me personally. But anyways that was 7 reasons for rewards so I suppose I went a bit overkill in answering your question.

This made me lawls…. Used to be I could kind of judge how good someone was based off how they looked in the beggining of the match (the crappier the outfit the more likely they were lower rank.) At the end of the match my suspicions were confirmed usually. Now I judge how new someone is based off how many legendaries I see on my team…. The more people with a legendary the more likely I expect a bad match…. Which usually winds up being true.
The point was, that this new reward system didn’t bring any new skins at all. We could get all the skins that are in this reward system even before the patch. Well, there is one backpack, ok, but what else? Can you tell me about one skin that we were not able to get in the pre patch reward system? Just one? I don’t really know about any new skins. So we still got the same, but it takes soooo much longer to get the skins. My point was that the wardrobe would be enough. There was no reason for this reward system, which brings nothing new.
