What do you think will be next hated build?
I’m betting it’s Mesmer. The devs started a new session of dislike for clone death in the last livestream. Suddenly I hear terms like “turret mesmer” when no one even knew it existed pre livestream.
So, after hearing that my build was “unhealthy” people are suddenly all over it.

Id be willing to bet it would have been the celestial meta once again but thats being nerfed. Im assuming slick shoes/power rangers will be next. And once those are gone itl go back to the thieves.
Shoutbow is up there but its mostly hidden. The way it plays despite being nearly as brainless as people thought turret engi to be is much less flashy so people don’t notice it.

Forcefully removing builds from the game is just unhealthy for the game as a whole.
Whatever it is, unless people find another bunker build, capable of standing against the celestial meta(I hope, they do. Wanna feast on the tears of all those meta build copy/pasters) we won’t see anything big emerging.

The only crime, turrets committed, is being good against the celestial meta.

Even being away from the game for some time, metas are formed based on tournaments, or team comps, some of the new traits really throw new builds into the mix, so nobody will know if more specialized emerging players find these builds and win over “top” teams (due to build>player). It’s a joke to try and theorycraft comps atm, since the build variety will increase which brings it more in line to how it was in beta (for better or worse, pvp wise).

Wait wat…who played turrets to counter celestial? Everyone i know played it cuz it was faceroll easy, to farm games, or to troll.
Isnt celestial…currently hated? I hate the heck out of that amulet, warriors, eles, and engies that take forever to kill constantly healing while doing a ton of damage (not wars :p). Its the boringest amulet in the game and really ruins the variety of builds since its basically an everything build. with the nerf it should be a little less powerful but im sure most people will still run those builds until new traits settle in.
PU Shatter Hybird, I’ve explained on another post how it sounds broken on paper, but we wont know until its in game. Stealth games between Mes and Thief are candidates for hate.
Power Ranger and Condi Ranger get my vote as “most hated”. Even when Ranger was among the worst classes it was hated for no reason. Now they are going to be even stronger then they are now, imagine the hate times ten. Like how Rampage as One is Kaio ken times ten.

It existed. Phantasm iDuellist builds were not really viable in tpvp two years ago, but they were cancer anyway.

The new D/P thief grabbing DA, SA, and Trick probably will be the most hated build after the patch.

It’s not necessarily overall imbalanced, but definitely one of the top-3 builds we see in absolutely every competetive team.
Also, it kinda hurts certain classes/builds a bit too much with the huge AoE-Condition clear. Truly one of the main reasons we don’t see true condition-builds anymore at the highest level, or very few.
Oh yes, it’s also very easy to play.

It should be thief. But seeing how S/D isn’t hated now and for some reason people believe it actually requires any skill, I think it might not be thief.
It will probably be some warrior build.
the new shadow arts is insane, so thief is a likely contender.
however, most of the angry community play glass builds and hate things they can’t kill with their burst combo, so I foresee some mighty warrior hate. they will never understand that tanks builds do ‘insane damage’ because they are full glass.

Before the trait system revamp I think players will focus the rage on longbow rangers again, now that turret engi is nerfed to the ground.
After the changes probably mesmer and thief. Those trait changes look op. Engi is getting IP nerf so it will be away from the hate list for a while.
