Q:
What does top scoring in hotjoin mean to you?
it means that the player managed to stay alive for a long time or didn’t die at all therefore contributed with allot of points for the team via capping/reviving/killing.
mmm… you ask me what does it mean? nothing.
“Don’t criticize what you can’t understand”
Satisfaction. All people in the whole world always want to be at the edge of leaderboard, even if it’s a fart contest.

Generally its the one person who gets to most “tags”
Like hitting a downed player for some minor amount, capping a point even if all 8 of you are standing on it, or in general just sitting back and using AoE.

Certain classes/builds usually get higher points in hotjoin due to people’s tendency to zerg everywhere.
It has little correlation with contribution. In a large sample size it kinda means something on roamer classes, but nearly nothing on a bunker.
The bulk of glory should be handed out for your team winning. That is the most accurate way to incentivez people to behave correctly.

This. But when it comes to hotjoin, it just means I’m that much glory closer to my next rank. In hotjoin I’ll roam to find those random 1 v 1s, and back cap points. Actually leads you to meet some interesting players/playstyles.
As someone else said, tagging. Sometimes in hotjoin I’ll just run around with my shortbow out getting trick shots off downed, and usually like 98% of the time) I get the points for killing them as well.
Actually I guess it doesnt mean much in tPvP either. Plenty of times I just let someone else finish or cap, as long as the node as clear. As long as we win, dont give a crap about points in tPvP either.
usually means they capped the most points/didn’t die
that’s how i get top whenever i decide to do hotjoins anyway

I for one love seeing the player with the highest glory that round as the “winner”. kinda motivates me to compete and try to get as much glory as I can.
That can be hard when I don’t go invisible and a bunch of people on my friends list come snipe me though.
tagging people will get you a lot of glory fast. People that know how the point system works, like deal a couple k damage on downed guy you get skirmisher are the people who get a lot of glory.
means he farmed more than others. i would envy him…not
Generally speaking, its tagging, uncapping/team capping, and zerging that gets you the most personal glory.
Unless you are on khylo, then its the trebuchet. 3 per hit is ridiculous.
Means you know howto hang ten and surf that zerg
Sometimes it just means you were one of the only ones who played the entire match.
It means I probably never died, and I am a thief, in hot-join.
