I have a friend who just started playing a Mesmer and was wondering what blends with Mesmer the best

anything can match with a mesmer, but thief is a good and fun option.

honestly, considering he is new and will need a hand- I advise you play druid. it’s got damage, and good team support. you can really help him out in 2v2s.

otherwise, any class played by someone who can take a portal is going to do it. mesmer is one of the best classes out there, and it synergizes really well with almost everything. a second condi build is very mean to run with condi chrono, but I wouldn’t advise nec + mes unless you’re really good at holding your own on necro.

For PvP related stuff, thief is the best mesmer companion.

I think choovs is right, a class with support and a bit of decap potential/damage with druid is a good option. it also has good res potential.

Rev or Thief is your best bet, especially condi thief with condi chrono, that’s really rip then
