Why make it limited? For people who have to work long hours, who have families etc this makes it incredibly difficult to get.

This is the only legendary in the game that’s time limited. It’s seems the total opposite direction to where the HoT legendary quest was going. But hey this is ArenaNet and their passion for eSports….

In 4 season you have to be ruby 4 times, or bye bye legendary backpack, it isn’t enough 2x diamond… you need in 2 season to be legendary both times, if you are very good…so it’s more than time gating, it’s skill gating to… when ppl will realize they will quit pvp ranked.

I’m pretty sure it’s Ruby Ruby Saph Saph for the backpiece minimum and 60 days + the achievements. It’s really not that bad, even my friend who only plays casually is halfway done with the backpiece.

Its supposed to be a legendary, something that not many people have. If it was up to me i would slap a legendary division requirement on it to even be able to get it. But they were considerate to the more casual players to allow them to slowly get it over multiple seasons (through going ruby/saphire a bunch).

This mentality that everyone should have everything without having to work for it or be required some form of skill is what ruins so many games these days. (WoW for example is dying because of this very reason, every1 wanted to be able to do everything and all of a sudden youre out of content after 1 month and you dont really know what to play for since everything is so kittening easy to get)

Per this recap we’ll be able to get the current one even after a new one is released.

There will be a new legendary backpack every year, but Hugh confirmed that the current style can still be earned after a new one is introduced.

So, you don’t have to be legendary material. Just an average person willing to put in the time and effort. And that’s perfectly ok.

I got legend last season and I’m on saph now. 2/4 T4 League Elite so I need diamond and i’ll be done.

So that’s crossing 5 div + 4 div = 9 div total? Ruby is 3 div so 3,3,2,2 is enough to get the backpiece. Even 3,2,2,2 seems to be enough ?

So just with enough effort anyone can really get the backpiece, ruby x 1 + saph x 3.

You have to cross divisions for a total of 1+2+3+4=10 times across 4 seasons. So 3+3 (2 rubies) + 2+2 (2 sapphires) is the minimum requirement.

Just save pvp tickets for next year.

People keep saying that but in my achievements list the next tier of “cross x divisions” is unlocked when you complete the previous one and includes divisions you’ve already crossed as long as it’s all within one season.

after this year the backpack will still be available but will be more expensive. they will add new items for us to spend tickets after this season is over and 2 more season.
