What is "Matchmaking" ?
Hello ?
What is it ?
Do i need to buy glider collection to get it?
Hi.
Yes you need to have every glider skin and full ascended armor of dire stat on every profession/race combination possible.
I think ANET removed matchmaking. At least it sure seems that way. They can’t even figure out how to not match a premade against a PUG tem.
I must play a different game than the people here. Rarely am I against a full premade as a team of solo q. Duo’s and the occasional triple but there is usually one on my team to balance. I wish ANet would just show a log of how often this full premade kitten actually happens and shut the cry babies on this forum up about it.
Its really just a crutch excuse for losing and its so tiring to listen too.
The general match making pseudo code is on the wiki:

It’s not for lack of trying, in the coding component at least, that makes for poor matchups in pvp. There are some complexities that no algorithm will be able to handle with a reasonable queue time; especially with a small pvp player population. For example, you could have equally skilled players on both sides and get a random comp that makes the match difficult if not impossible to win.
Really, the last low hanging fruit that is left to go after, and I really hope that Anet does, is to separate soloq from teamed up players. An algorithm can’t do a decent job of accounting for the coordination benefit of having players, even a couple, in comms. Once you get past even mid level play, what’ll often happen is the soloq team will lose a team fight and then won’t be able to recover or regroup and push back into the map. Instead, especially with baddies, as soon as they respawn they either run back into an outnumbered meat grinder at that teamfight they died at or run off to take another point and end up in being picked up and forced into a bad 1v1. Due to the nature of conquest matches they often end up snowballing from this scenario.
After stomping the opponent at mid fight, a scrapper teammate ran to mid. To avoid double capping, I left to guard home. With no opponents in sight and halfway to capping mid, the scrapper used his elite gyro to go stealth for no reason whatsoever. While in stealth, he began jumping in circles not realizing what he’s done.
What have I done to be blessed with such an OP teammate as he is?
You cannot expect “good” matchmaking at the moment. Players try new builds/classes after HoT release. There might be issues with overpowered builds and/or adapting to it. You can even switch classes and builds at any time by logging in another character. How could a matchmaking algorithm handle that? It cannot.
show mmr to players would go a long way to solve match making problems. Right now we are all just guessing at how they make matches, if they showed us our mmr then at least we can offer some educated suggestions to make it better.
For example Anet has repeatedly stated that match making does not take into account the result of previous matches but I swear more than 80% of the time after I win a match the next match I get paired with total newbs.
